I rushed to the forest where Cecil stayed, and entered her cabin she was still not there, I knew she would be back here to prepare flowers for the moon goddess I paced back and forth in the tiny store room behind the laundry quarters—the only place I could be alone with Cecil without raising suspicion. My chest still felt tight, my skin hot from earlier… from that dream, and from Demyan’s silent dismissal. Cecil leaned against a wooden crate, arms folded, watching me with a knowing glint in her eye. “You saw him, didn’t you?” she asked quietly. I stopped pacing and nodded. She raised an eyebrow. “And?”

Penn whispered. “Fuck the first mate!” I exclaimed. “Just because a woman doesn’t love him he has to kill her?” “Sound familiar?” Posy asked, glancing at Cedric. “I don’t want Zelda dead!” Cedric snapped. “Is there anything else there?” Zeke asked. “I see nothing else.” I passed the book onto Posy who didn’t see anything. The book was passed around the circle and then stopped at Cedric. He groaned. “I can read it.”

I meet a smiling Ciel standing right outside, his smile radiating to me as I shyly touch my hair and open the door wide enough to let him in. “Are you busy? Sorry to intrude” He says to me and I shake my head with a bubbling smile, “Not at all, I was only immersing myself in paranormal fiction”. I had gotten the book from Welma who fiercely suggested I read it so we would gingerly discuss it tomorrow. Now, I’m not so proud of my novel reading skills at all. I’m more of a comic reader in this aspect.

She heard Milo’s mocking voice from behind and turned around swiftly with fuming eyes. “Whoa! I still want to live few more years. Don’t kill me with unpleasant sight” He closed his eyes with his hands in exasperation after seeing her cleavage and walked around her to his quarters. Cecelia couldn’t be more humiliated than this and stomped her feet ignoring Milo’s laughter behind her. She may not get their support but she got better people backing her up. “What are you talking about?” She laughed. “Only a blind person would be oblivious to the affection you have towards Raymond. He is your stepbrother but I know that look when I see one. I have a feeling there is a clear misunderstanding here and if I am right, what you have to do is be open to him.” I sat upright, feeling exposed. “What has that got to do with anything?” “Actually it has a lot to do with it. And if you have been vigilant enough you would know Cecil is very much interested in him.”

Cecelia's eyes suddenly lit up in surprise as she swallowed her saliva, without blinking not to even mention letting her breath out. Edward chuckled at her expression before letting go of her, as he climbed off the bed. "Tell me! Do you want to touch me?". Edward typed and showed it to her while raising his brow. "Huh! it's not what it seems like okay!. And hell no! I'm not planning to touch you". Cecelia tries to defend herself. "So what do they seem like?". Edward typed, still raising a brow. "Well! I was just...... well..... I was just removing dirt from your hair, and..... yeah! that's what I was trying to do". Cecelia stammered.

At least he got to escape the so-called party I'm having. I was waiting for Cecil to return from where she went to say ‘hi’ to her parents. She had told me to come along, but I wasn’t in the mood yet. The Reids had a habit of asking too many unwanted and awkward questions, and as much as I could, I avoided them. Cecil went anyway, and I didn’t stop her. She would take any opportunity to show off her 12-carat engagement ring, which cost over a hundred thousand dollars anyway. I saw Ivory in the corner of the room, smiling with the Stiles, our biggest rivals yet while acting like they were the best of friends.

I say, giving it right back. Her face goes sour again as I pass her, heading to my room. When I get there, I turn back and see Cecelia with her hand on Xander’s chest, her body pressed close to his. She’s looking up at him and he’s looking at her. It’s obvious that whatever she's willing to give, he’s willing to take. I step into my room, feeling stupid for thinking that there might be anything more to his attention than wanting to make sure that his family is safe.

Cecilia trailed behind us, still clutching the book to her chest like it was the only thing keeping her upright. The study door clicked shut behind us. Cecilia didn’t waste any time. She placed the book on the desk and started flipping through it. “I stayed up all night reading this. I think… I think I found something that might help.” I moved closer. Reaching for the pen that was on the desk. What did you find? She turned a few more pages in the book, her thumb pausing on a marked section. Her shoulders were stiff, the silence stretching as she stared down at the text like she needed to read it one more time to believe it herself.
