He scrolled through a long list of articles he did not care about until he finally found one. His interest piqued. His body reacted before his mind. He snatched Kent’s phone and sat up. I muttered under my breath, my voice filled with disbelief. The man—Lucas Hawke—stood, his piercing gaze locking onto mine. His expression was unreadable, but there was a tension in the air that made my skin prickle. I stared at him, my mind racing. This was the man I’d hurled a stone at just hours ago. The man who had tossed a card at my face like I was nothing. And now…now I was supposed to marry him? “Well?” He said, his voice low and commanding. “Shall we discuss the terms of our arrangement?”

She wanted to roll her eyes. She was in love with an unobservant, foolish, handsome and kind man. Her back was bare. If he looked below Dina's initials, he could see a very bold 'RD' staring back at him. He was too distracted to notice. If he did, though, perhaps things would be easier. She had to leave Domsville soon and losing him was a part of the plan. Unless he would accept a murderer as his lover.

I mutter quietly while pretending to browse the front table. Cillian stays close behind me. Too close to qualify as casual. “Good.” I glance over my shoulder. “You’re impossible.” “Aye.” No shame. Never shame. His eyes stay moving constantly while he speaks, scanning exits, customers, and reflections in windows. Always alert. Always dangerous. And somehow still holding my coffee order in one hand because he remembered I’ve suddenly become obsessed with caramel. Pregnancy is humiliating. The smell of coffee hits me stronger as we move deeper into the bookstore, and suddenly my stomach twists.

Lexie's heart pounded so loud, she was sure Killian could hear it. She wasn't a novice sexually, nor was she timid, but this was the boldest thing she'd ever done. EMILY'S POV For a second, I could breathe well because I actually thought I was dreaming right now. I mean, how could Liam be reading my novel. My hands itched, and I decided to take a stroll towards what he was reading, my mouth fell open when I saw he also dropped a comment on almost every chapter, and not only that, the account he was using was actually my best reader. He has been following my books for the past six years and yet I didn't even pay more attention to him because I thought guys aren't the type to get invested in online novels.

After the commotion settled, Cecilia glanced at Liam beside her and chuckled softly. "Murphy really lives up to his reputation. He can even push away a beautiful woman from his arms." "He just wanted a quiet place to talk to her alone," Liam replied. "What do you mean?" Liam tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and explained quietly, "Murphy has a bit of an obsession with cleanliness. He can tolerate being dirty himself, but he won't tolerate someone unclean coming near him."

I hear Lila shout ‘daddy’ and I sigh. “You've got to be kidding me.” Can't I catch a break? “At this point, he may as well just move in,” Celia whispers in amusement Murphy reappears holding brown paper bags and I just raise my brows, wondering what that man was up to this time. “Your husband brought us breakfast. He's such an angel.” I would shoot Murphy if I had a gun but I don't. So I just stick to glaring at him and the asshole smiles.
