He clenched his fists as he stared out the window of his penthouse, the city sprawling below him like a maze. "You lied to me, Matteo," he murmured to himself. "You think you can hide her from me?" A sharp knock interrupted his thoughts. Rafael turned, narrowing his eyes at his trembling informant. "You said you found something," Rafael said, voice like silk wrapped around a blade. The man nodded, sweating through his shirt. "In Matteo’s jacket... sir. We found... this." He handed Rafael a small, dried rose, stained dark red. Blood roses.

They seemed to express that I didn't want him anymore. Facing 50 acres of land, Jeffrey finally realized that I, like these departed roses, would not return. The roses had been given to another woman by him casually, and its owner would not return because of himself. I would no longer plant flowers for him. He would never see me holding roses and asking him, "The roses are ripe. When are we going to get married?" He realized that roses had feelings too. In the nick of time, Rosa, who stood next to Cade, took the initiative to step forward and threw herself before him. The blade went down, and the entire edge went into Rosa’s chest. As her blood spurted out, Rosa’s eyes were wide open, with pain written all over her face. “Rosa!” Cade yelled. He hugged Rosa dearly as his whole body quivered. “Rosa! Rosa!” “Master, I… I’m cold! Frowning, he went to pull the door shut and it hit something, a thud sounding towards the bottom of the door. Chris lowered his gaze to the floor, and blinked in surprise, stuck between the door and the wall, was a little red rose in a tiny but elegant glass shaped like a crescent moon, the inside hardened with…resin? Resting on a bed of white tissue paper was a single rose made of delicate glass and the stem was broken in half so it looked dead and jagged, and I knew immediately that it was a message from Elena Romano because that rose was the symbol of the investment firm we had burned down in Berlin.
