The horizon bled red. A storm, vast, violent, devouring, rolled across the sky, swallowing stars as it came. Within its core, shapes moved, too large to be human, too twisted to be beasts.
Kael laughed again, even as his blood poured. “Ah… the first hunters. They’ve smelled her pieces already. You’ll never reach her before they do.”
The storm roared, splitting the night with lightning not of heaven but of shadow. The shapes within it howled, ancient, ravenous things, drawn to the goddess’ broken essence.
