It happened back in her first year of college near Intramuros. They said that during those days, a male classmate of theirs brought an old Japanese Doll. It’s the kind that sings, I don’t even remember why he bought it. Maybe it was just for show. While lunchbreak was ongoing, their classmate made the doll sing by turning it on. The sound was scary, they said, kind of like a chant. Of course, since none of the Japanese languages were familiar to any of them, they couldn’t understand it.

His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

Seven, if I remember correctly. ‘The Woodcutter and the Door of Fates’ was one... ‘The Old Man and the Desert of No Return’ was another. Oh yes, there were ‘The Legend of King Makarael the Great,’ ‘Hayami’s Grandfather,’ ‘Heroes of Aquarius,’ ‘Sir Kharkin of the Seven Seas,’ and ‘Aram the Master Sage.” Ishida recalled. “None of them were about a gravestone or a hill.”
