Lucian's POV Tonight, Las Vegas pulsed like a beat. Neon veins across the strip, colors bleeding into the desert sky. I came because Zeke had asked for me, and Zeke never asked for anything he couldn't bend on. I drove myself; no chauffeur, no convoy. No reminders that I was supposed to be untouchable. " He gleefully said as he took my hand and put my hand over his thigh. I felt heat rising through my body. I glanced out of the window. It could see lights and a beautiful view of Las Vegas, "This is known for nightlife and gambling." I said. "Shopping, entertainment and a lot more. This is our favourite destination to spend some vacation," he smirked, moving his hand on the steering wheel.

We are approaching Las Vegas. I immediately sit up straighter. That slight movement apparently wakes Greg up because one eye opens. “You okay?” I turn and grin, “We’re landing.” His sleepy expression disappears instantly. As he sits up and looks out of the window. The desert stretches out beneath us with its warm golds and browns. There are long roads cutting through open lands. And then all I can see are buildings. A city has appeared out of nowhere. Las Vegas. I press my forehead lightly against the window. Las Vegas looks impossible. Like somebody has decided to build an entire city in the middle of nowhere and then make it glow.

Then, stroke by stroke, I carefully signed my name. When Julian left with Elaine tucked against his side, he glanced back at me. His expression was as careless as ever. "Laura, I hope you stick with it longer this time. Don't come crying and begging me later." I later heard that Julian's friends started a betting pool. The wager? How long it would take before I went crawling back to him and asked for reconciliation. The whole thing sounded like a bad joke. I forgot about it almost immediately.
