"Scumbag! I swear, if I ever see him again, I'll have the strays from the Icefield Pack attack him on sight!" I thought that once I left the territories of the Ironclaw and Silvermoon packs, Charlie would never find me. But I was wrong. A month later, when he suddenly appeared before me, I almost thought I was hallucinating. He was supposed to be the pride of the Ironclaw pack, once tall, handsome, and radiating the presence of an Alpha.

It made one wonder if it was the glaring sunlight outside or if the peal of laughter was a genuine one that truly represented him. "Mrs. Carlson, you're really a tit-for-tat kind of person, huh? Aren't you afraid I'll go back on our agreement to sign?" Charlie asked frankly. Sophie shrugged fearlessly. "I believe you're not someone who would easily change your mind over a cup of Blue Mountain or a few words from me, am I right?" Although she had only met Charlie once, she could almost recite all the data she had on him by heart, yet claiming to understand him was beyond her. However, one thing was certain: He didn't make decisions lightly and then casually change them.

“Truthfully… I absolutely loved it.” “That’s my girl.” Charlie patted me on the back. “Let’s collect Stub before she catches a nude player and does more than take a picture.” “You’re horrible,” I said with a burst of laughter. Charlie winked and said, “I watch that woman closely. She has a thing for large muscles. She’ll be the death of me some day, but I’ll die happy.” For an older man, Charlie was in good shape. This was the first time I saw him in short sleeves and it was obvious he worked out. He must have been a knockout in his day.

“Well I thought I did, which is why I wanted him to be mine but when I told him that he disappeared from my life completely.” Charlie had told me that he used to just cut women off when they got too attached. In my mind I pictured them being crazy stalkers like Francesca, but Dimity didn't come across as crazy or a stalker. She actually seemed to be a lot like me. “Charlie’s not good with emotions, he tends to just shut them out to avoid dealing with them,” I try to explain but it seems to just make her angry. She steps out from under my arm and faces me, as if trying to study me further

Today I earn more money than his wounded ego can bear. I couldn't stop a smile from appearing on my lips, and I didn't dare to belittle the gift that man had to cheer people up. I knew it was because of his personality that all his respect had been conquered. Certainly, yes. How about his personality? Well. All I could say is that when it rained outside with negative characteristics, Charlie caught everything on his own. Being boastful. Arrogant. Cold-hearted. Impulsive. Dishonest. And even greed. He's undeniably on top of those qualities and characteristics. "Think whatever you like, you moron! Charlie Frost is just my brother-in-law. Nothing more. Nothing less. So, you better get the hell out of my sight before I'm gonna kill you."

Charles stared up at the night sky from the balcony off his bedroom, trying to clear his head. He always felt more at peace when he was outside. Maybe it had to do with his house being too big for one person. It was so much empty space that he felt claustrophobic, the silence pressing in on him from all sides.
