He looked around, disoriented, taking in the scene of the accident. The car was totalled, the front end crushed, the windshield shattered. Chase’s heart raced as he realised how close he had come to death. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and assessed his injuries. He was battered and bruised, but alive. As he looked around, he saw a figure approaching him, a stranger, who helped him to his feet. Chase’s mind was still reeling, his thoughts a jumbled mess, as he tried to process what had just happened. He knew he had to get out of there, get back to his family, but as he walked, Chase got weak and immediately fell to the ground and passed out.

asked Lorenzo with furrowed brows. “The accident happened in December while you were traveling to Detroit to visit your mother with Selena and one year old Enzo. It was Christmas Eve, everyone was rejoicing to welcome Christmas. But that night there was a snowstorm in Chicago. The road was very slippery because of a very heavy snowstorm, and my I was on my way home at that time because the work at the headquarters was finished. I passed Cicero Avenue. I saw a mini cooper speeding in front of me. I had thought that the driver was a crazy driver because he was so brave to go so fast in the middle of a snowstorm that caused the road to be so slippery.

However, when we both ended the call, I felt somewhat downcast, and then Millie walked in with a gloomy expression on her face, making me more nervous and worried. “What’s wrong, Millie?” I asked her worriedly. Millie swallowed hard and said, “I am sorry, Carmen, but Chase has been shot.” The news rang in my head like a thousand times over and I felt my head spinning already. The last thing I think I heard was Millie telling me the name of the hospital he had been taken to.

Max chuckles, initiating the game. "Never have I ever fooled around in an elevator." We both grab a french fry, smirking as we clink them together for a toast and munch on them. "Never have I ever been messing around in the car and accidentally honked the horn." "That happened last night," he confesses, smirking again as he takes another bite of his french fry. "So that's why you were up so late," I remark, recalling his early morning text. I, too, pick up another french fry.

Chase asked, placing his hand on his weapon. "No, no. We, well, Ronnie captured a fugitive who'd kidnapped my parents after allegedly killing Parker in cold blood. Rich Wilson, you remember him." After Chase nodded, Mitch summarized the recent events. "Sorry we woke you. I know you get up early, but I didn't think this early." Mitch smiled and patted his childhood friend on the back. "I have a mare in labor, and I was heading to the barn to check on her when I heard the shot," he said as he walked over and hugged Mitch's parents. "How are you doing? You're out kinda late, aren't you?"

he called his friend but Chase had again blanked out. “Chase!!!” George shouted this time to bring his friend back to his senses. Chase came out of his trance and hit the break of his car right before he could collide with the car in front of him. He would have gotten into an accident if he didn’t stop the car. He was breathing heavily. His forehead and palms were covered in sweat. “what’s going on Chase?” George asked. “I.. she called…” Chase couldn’t bring himself to form a proper sentence.

But, for now, I simply turned myself forward in the seat and watched the road as Anna drove. Was the ride home always this long? Chase’s POV Seeing Alice throw the plush animal he had won her out the window, Chase rushed forward toward it. Protectively, he snatched it off of the asphalt before another car could come or it could be too damaged by the gunk of the parking lot. Gently, when he held it, walking off the main of the road, he brushed some of the small rocks and dirt away from the teddy bear’s face. What he had hoped would be a pleasant evening, a chance for Amber and him to grow closer, as better friends if not an actual romantic couple yet, had taken a turn for the absolute worst.

‘’What's wrong”’ Emandra asked from behind after being disturbed by the sudden halt and noise. ‘’Í think I hit something, Luna,’’ Enzo answered, trying not to scare her. ‘’Or someone”’ Chase added nonchalantly, stepping out of the car. If looks could kill then Enzo’s eyes would be the murder weapon used to kill Chase. Everyone stepped out heading for the front where a trail of blood led to a nearby bush. Whatever they hit or whoever it was tried to dodge but was not quick to do so. There was no bum on the car which was more of a relief. It was enough to say the hit had not been a bad one, maybe just a crash.

And worried. A few minutes passed. The street was quiet except for a few distant cars. Then… Out of nowhere, a deafening roar split the quiet. A trailer, out of control…sped straight down the road. Chase had just stepped out of the shop, holding a small box of customized ice cream when he froze as he witnessed the scene unfold. The trailer didn’t stop. It crashed into his car, ramming it into the building beside it with terrifying force. The metal crumpled like paper. Glass shattered. The entire frame twisted in on itself.

Damion’s POV The truth had a way of revealing itself in pieces—never all at once, never in a way that allowed you to prepare. And now, standing in my office, staring at the pages scattered across my desk, I felt like someone had just cracked my ribs open and left me gasping for breath. Christopher Bane’s death wasn’t an accident. There was no way the police could believe it was all an accident and he had just miraculously had an accident if it was not intentional planned.
