ISLA’S POV: The Thorne's library was located on the West wing of the mansion behind a dark heavy oak door filled rich comforting aroma of old books. The shelves were adorned in rich mahogany which stretched towards the glass ceilings. Light rays poured through the massive arched windows brightening the dust specks that drifted lazily in the air. The scent of old parchment, polished wood, and faint sandalwood from Cade’s cologne clung to the room, seeping into me like a memory I didn’t want to acknowledge.

Chloe wondered if the NAG brothers ran their trafficking business in their house. Chloe doubted it, the house didn't have the construction of a building with hidden places. But she was still going to find out where the sound was coming from. As she took a turn away from where all the rooms were, her legs walked her up a short spiraled staircase, and into a library. Wondering how on earth she missed the room during her survey of the house, Chloe found herself moving towards the shelved books. There had to be about ten huge shelves in the room, all arranged as you would see in public libraries.

But it was also suffocating. Too polished. Too perfect. So when I found the library door slightly open, curiosity pulled me inside. The room was breathtaking. Towering shelves stretched from floor to ceiling. Thousands of books lined the walls. A ladder rested against one shelf. Soft golden lamps illuminated leather chairs arranged near a fireplace. It smelled like old paper and quiet thoughts. For the first time since arriving at Hawthorne House, I relaxed. I walked slowly along the shelves. History. Philosophy. Art. My fingers stopped.Art.

He was always in the cool, quiet corners. The library doors were massive, carved from ancient weirwood. They stood slightly ajar, a single sliver of warm, flickering light spilling onto the cold stone floor. I pushed them open. The library of Thorne was a cathedral of knowledge, shelves rose three stories high, filled with crumbling scrolls and iron-bound books. In the center of the room, sitting at a mahogany table, was Caspian. He had discarded his fox-fur cloak. He looked relaxed, almost bored, as he stirred a steaming porcelain cup.

With a flick of his sleeve, Chase flung the man aside and headed straight for the library. Moments later, Chase stood before the entrance to the library. It was located in the deepest part of Hawkins Residence. From a distance, the library resembled an altar. Eight towering pillars surrounded it, and each was etched with strange, intricate runes. "Luis, you deserved this," Chase muttered coldly. With a flick of his finger, a sword aura slashed through the air, shattering the chains that secured the entrance. Chase's palm struck the wooden doors, reducing them to splinters as he strode inside.

I replied her I didn't know much place around the building and so she offered to help me. She stopped outside a door and told me to input the password I was given then she backed me, more like preventing herself from seeing what I'm to press. "Password?" I muttered to myself. The only passcode I could recall having is the one of Chase's room. Without wasting much time, I inputted the passcode and the door opened. The maid bowed down and walked away. I stepped into the library and was taken aback, I didn't ever think their would be a library in such a house. It was filled with books neatly arranged.

I was just walking behind Xavier, alive yet dead. “Lura, this is room twenty-seven. It’s the house library. Should I open it so you can see?” “Yes, open it,” I replied. Indeed, it was a very large library, stacked with old leather-bound books, salons with gold-trimmed furniture, and a massive portrait of Blackwood men and women staring down at me with frozen judgment. Each glance felt like a test on my life, and I hated how heavy their expectations felt on me. We left the library after some minutes and finally arrived in a smaller sitting room filled with gold chairs and expensive luxury.

’ With that in mind, I bolted up from my seat and ran through the door and hallways, a place in mind that will surely give me a starting point to discover: THE LIBRARY. If this world resembles the Victorian Era back on Earth, it is sure that every household that has a library holds the family history and documents. It is always like that. Sometimes, it is placed at the very back of the room, or contained in a sealed space or chest, even in a hidden room or anything. AsI trudged through the halls, both servants and maids alike bowed down, but not with a look of confusion and wonder as to why the duchess was walking in such haste. Well, I really need to be in the library as soon as possible.

"Now go and stop bothering me. I have businesses to attend to. Make sure you keep an eye on Asty." "Lord Chaol," she called out to him weakly. "Miss Asty knows about the library. Yvonne had told her about the book." "Ah yes. I have gotten rid of it. If she wants to come inside the library, then let her do so." "I do not have the key of the library, My Lord." "Fine. Take it. It is in the left drawer of my wardrobe. Return the key afterward." Lana nodded as Chaol walks away from her.
