Chosen By The Lycan Prince Novels & Stories

"Go! I signaled my pilot to fly the girl and the medical team away, and I remained behind to deal with the soldiers. I had already mindlinked my beta and asked him to send the military force in case a war were to begin. I am a Lycan. I am the strongest of all, so killing all those men singlehandedly was a piece of cake for me, but still, I chose to involve my military. I knew sending back the corpses of his men would only humiliate him more because he would be left wondering why his a hundred and something men were defeated by a single person. "What brought you to my kingdom?" I asked as more of the troop trooped closer to me.

"This isn't possible." "What is it?" I asked impatiently. "Please talk to me." She looked at the marks and then back at me. "This mark means that you have been chosen." "Chosen by who?" I asked. "The Lycan King."

"That isn't my fault." "I didn't say it was," he said, and let it go. He was already working out how to get back in front of Lockhart when the ballroom shouted. A crash. A tray going down. Then the whole room at once, a current moving to one door, and Kade walked back in. A man in livery was up on a chair. The Lycan King was choosing his princess a husband. The old wolf was coming to the border lands himself, in a matter of days, to hold a Selection, and the summons had already gone out to every pack that could get an alpha on the road inside the week.

Lucian’s voice cut through the stillness. “Let this summit bear witness,” he said, his tone carrying across every corner of the hall. Aurelia felt it again his hand brushing hers, not gripping, not forcing. Choosing. Standing with her. The balance of power had shifted and everyone knew it. The silence breaks. The tension snaps and before anyone can challenge it Lucian steps forward. His voice echoes through the summit, cold and absolute: “Aurelia Nightbane…” A pause. The entire world holding its breath. “…will stand as Queen Candidate of the Lycan throne.”

In no time, I had cornered his horse, kicking into the air as I pulled him from the horse. His horse let out a loud neigh before it crashed into the wall, scrambled to its feet and continued to run. I looked down at him, watching as fear creeped into his eyes. "Please. Please! I did not kill your people so spare me." I lifted him off the ground with one hand, my eyes glowing red as sharp claws shot out of my flesh. "You have underestimated and played a lot with me and I have done nothing in regards to that. But today, I will remind you that I am Alpha King Zahir, the Lycan beast of Lycaronia and I will destroy you and your soul wouldn't be accepted by Hades!"

He was not only the star athlete and most popular guy in school, but he was also one out of three Lycans who attended this school. Kierian was none other than the Lycan Prince and someone I had harbored a crush on since we were kids, except he didn’t remember me. Right now, it was a good thing, because I didn’t want him to look at me with pity. When he learned about what happened to my family. Those intense ice-blue eyes were the last ones that I wanted to look at me with pity in them.

She read it while walking, which was very Mira, and I watched her expression shift from grief to confusion to something wide and stunned. Lycan Princess, she said. Yes. You. Apparently. She handed the letter back. King Aldric's daughter. His only surviving heir, according to the council. She was quiet for a moment. I could hear her processing it the same way I had, in layers, each one landing harder than the last. Damon knew, she said. It was not a question. He had to. My wolf pressed against my ribs in agreement. Why else would he have chosen me? I had no title, no pack, no connections. He picked me out of nothing and now I know exactly what he was looking for.

Blood ran down his ribs. “Okay,” he said under his breath, “you want a fight?” And then he shifted. Bones cracked. His shape grew bigger, stronger. Fur exploded over his body. His gold eyes lit up like fire. The Lycan Prince. Twice my size. Radiating power. The ground trembled under him. But still… he didn’t move first. “Layla,” he growled, “you can fight this. You’re stronger than this thing inside you.”

“Oh, plenty of people have tried, but she’s clever. Knows how to keep herself in the good graces of those who matter.” “Like Prince Caspian?” She nods. “Exactly. She’s likely to be chosen as his mate, you know.” I stop whisking and stare at her. “Her? Why?” “She’s beautiful, smart, commanding. Her lycan is strong, and she’s of very fertile age. It makes sense politically and strategically.” I make a face, unable to hide my disgust. “That doesn’t mean she deserves it.” Before she can respond, Cassidy’s voice cuts through the room. "I elope from the pack house to get away from someone and what do I get? My own mother and best friend bringing her name up in this sacred space!"

There, one of the Frostbite Pack elders and the Lycan king awaited us. My father, who was already waiting for me by the door, didn’t hesitate to take my hand in his arm as he led me down the aisle. He didn’t bother hiding his relief at finding a potential buyer; I suppose he’s just as eager as the others to send me away. When we reached the end of the aisle, I stood in front of Logan as the elder instructed us to repeat after him. I said, “I, Lyra Darko of the Frostbite pack, accept King Logan as my chosen mate,” which I did. The king was then asked to do the same, saying, “I, King Logan of the Stormbringer Pack, accept Lyra Darko of the Frostbite pack as my chosen mate,” and to mark each ot
