A few minutes into it, I hear footsteps. I whip my head around, and I see it's Christopher. He's in his nightwear, eyes fixed on the screen with furrowed brows, like he's stumbled into a nightmare. Onscreen, David Glatzel, a young boy, twists in demonic agony, his body cracking into unnatural shapes as the priest chants, holy water hissing on his skin amid guttural roars.

His eyes glimmered with a dangerous intensity, and a palpable sense of bloodlust filled the air. The overwhelming anger within him drove him to lash out, unleashing his fury on the objects atop his dresser as he heartlessly knocked them out of place. Then, when he saw Xavier come alone, he asked, “Where’s your woman?” Xavier chuckled. “She isn’t feeling well, so she went to the restroom.” Chris nodded. Inside, my anger burned hotter with each passing moment, fueling my determination to bring him down and rescue the innocent captives. I allowed a hint of doubt to creep into my voice, my eyes shimmering with feigned vulnerability. “I... Chris woke up, covered in sweat, with his heart beating so fast in his chest, he could have a heart attack. His eyes darted in all direction, his mind is trying to ensure that he is safe. His heartbeat only slowed down when he finally realized that he's still in his room. Everything was nothing but a bad dream. Slowly lying back down on his bed, Chris closed his eyes. But, as soon as he closed them, the voices of those women who were murdered echoed in his ears again.
