"Language, Gabe. But I'm glad you're home. It's been lonely without you." Her voice dropped, husky, like she was sharing a secret. The mistletoe hung above us, mocking me.
I smirked. "Lonely, huh? Dad's away on that business trip again?"
She nodded, her fingers tracing my arm. "Just us for Christmas. We could... make it special."
That was it. I grabbed her chin, tilting her face up. "Special how, Davina? You gonna be a good girl for me this holiday?"
