And she starts leafing through the Illustrated Collector´s Edition of ´The Complete Sherlock Holmes´. Richard looks unimpressed. I can almost read his thoughts... ... Is that all you give your wife at Christmas...? ... but I am not about to be daunted by his glaring disapproval. "Actually," I say, "that´s just part of your Christmas present. I just wanted to give you something you could unwrap."

Annie and Dare narrow their gaze at me and I pretend not to see them. We all sing Amanda a happy birthday song, which makes her teary. Afterwards, we present our gifts to her. Annie got her a headband (it's so cute I think Amanda shouldn't take it off) and a handbag. Oyin gives her a box of chocolate. Harry gifts her a lovely notebook, which she could use to keep a journal or for whatever it is she deems the book fit for. Eric presents her with a mug, which he made the beautiful design that's on it.
