Christmas Story Movies Novels & Stories

“I’m game. And pass me that pie.” Amber found she enjoyed Donny’s company. It helped lighten the mood, but his father was right about his talking through most of the movie. But she didn’t mind as she’d recently watched Miracle on 34th Street with Leo anyway. It helped put her in a better mood for sure. She was even finally feeling some of that Christmas spirit even though it was technically December 26th. Doc watched the film off and on, but his main focus was his patient of course.

Where she gets her energy from I'll never know but I'm loving every moment of watching her. The next few hours consist of showers, matching Christmas pyjamas, takeout, sweets, popcorn and a movie called The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I'd never heard of it before but I loved every minute of it and so did Nina. "It's almost 9 pm and way past someone's bedtime." Nina gives me a pouty look before I've even finished talking but it's not going to wash with me. "Can I stay up a ikkle more momma, peas!" She holds her hands together like she's praying and while the scene she's putting on is adorable and has most likely already swayed Josh and Riley to agree, it's not worked on me.

I giggled, “I do... Because there’s this movie that you’ve probably never seen, but it has given me a deep fear of walking on glass. It’s called Die Hard, and it’s one of the best Christmas movies ever.” Cas picked me up from the floor, “then we’ll sleep in another room. And I’ll clean it up tomorrow. And how can a Christmas movie be called Die Hard? It doesn't even sound Christmasy.” “You like carrying me way too much.” I said, my legs around his waist. I'd show him the movie another time. “You don’t mind it one bit, Ley. Now be a good girl and stop being stubborn, because I don’t want to fight anymore.”

I plan to continue this tradition with my own kids in the future as this helps teach the value of life, a lesson I have lived by since my first visit to a homeless shelter. We stopped off to grab a pizza on our way home from the shelter so we could watch our Christmas Eve movies. As soon as we got home, I placed the pizza out on the coffee table while Dad set up our first Christmas Eve movie of the night ‘It’s A Wonderful Life.’ Snuggling myself under a blanket and eating pizza I rest my head on Dad’s arm and enjoy watching one of my favorite holiday films. Once It’s A Wonderful Life is finished, I put on the 1994 version of Miracle On 34th Street. Dad and I polished off the pizza and enjoye

I ask her. “Well, Halloween.” “I love Halloween. I like to dress up as a werewolf,” I say, making her laugh. “That’s also when all the scary movies are on TV.” “I’m not a big fan of the scary movies,” she says. “That’s okay, this time of year, some networks start showing the Christmas movies. Oh and you know what? I just remembered, there’s a HUGE Christmas display in the city. They have music, hot chocolate, lights, all of it. I’d love to take you there. We could make it a date night,” I say, watching her reaction.

Christmas was looming, yet somehow, it didn't feel quite as festively joyful as it had other years. "I told you," I muttered, not turning around. "I'm fine. Just. it's a lot. The holidays. Everything. Hazel, the house. Your mom." Jaxon let out a deep sigh as he stepped inside and carefully closed the door behind him. "I understand. It's a lot for you." A beat later, he strolled over to where I was standing, his voice now low. "I want you to know, though, that I'm not doing this to make anything harder. I just want to give Hazel the best Christmas possible.

"Maya, welcome. I'm glad you're here." Then he was gone, disappearing toward the stairs. I watched him go, seeing the tension in his shoulders, the way he moved just a little too fast. Like he was escaping. "He's been so weird lately," Sophie said. "Working too hard, probably." Melissa gave me a look I couldn't quite read. Like she'd seen something. After dinner, everyone migrated to the living room for a movie. I sat through thirty minutes before claiming exhaustion. Sophie hugged me goodnight. "I'm so happy you're here. This is going to be the best Christmas."

Jaxon and I burst into laughter, and I lean into his hold as we both watch Aunt May and Sally hop together in pure excitement. Oh, this is by far the best Christmas ever.

He handed her one of the sodas immediately. “I already got the tickets. The movie starts in about fifteen minutes, so we can go in anytime.” She accepted the drink. “What movie are we seeing?” “Our favorite movie.” She raised a brow. “What do you mean, our favorite movie?” He chuckled sheepishly. “The Christmas one that just came out a few days ago. I overheard you talking about it with one of the nurses. You sounded very excited.” She smirked. “So you’ve been sneaking around now, Dr. Davy?”

Jordan teased, placing the order and pretending not to notice how familiar her choice felt. Once everything was set, he dimmed the lights and turned on Elf. Malaya squealed happily as Buddy the Elf appeared on screen, immediately scooting closer into the blankets. Laila settled beside her, tucking a blanket around Malaya’s shoulders, and Jordan sat across from them, close enough to feel included without crowding the moment. One movie turned into another—A Year Without a Santa Claus, then Noelle. By the time Frozen came on, Malaya insisted it was required viewing "because it’s Christmas and it has snow." Jordan found himself humming along, smiling when Malaya belted out the lyrics with total
