“I sense you’re jealous of the big red guy. Is that because the girls are obsessed with him?” He is jealous. The girls are saying Santa more than Mum, Dad, Marcus and Milk. “No, I am just a little fed up of seeing the guy. I’ve never watched so many Christmas films in my whole life, but if you want to watch more then let’s do it.” I can’t help but laugh. He has clearly had enough of Christmas already. “Okay, fine, no Christmas films, nothing like that. Let’s just find a good film to watch and relax till tea time. I will do my work later or tomorrow.”

Blair's POV Never in a million years did I think I would spend my Christmas Eve and my Christmas taking care of someone. I couldn't spend my Christmas with everyone, but today was Boxing Day. If they behaved, the elf would leave a small gift, but if they were naughty, the elf would play tricks on them. These elves stayed in our house for almost all of December: during the day, they were lifeless dolls watching over us; at night, they came alive and acted. Of course, Orison has something romantic playing on the screen because it’s freaking Christmas. “Dad, I can’t today,” I tell him, and just then, I come face to face with the television screen, and I freeze, my jaw going slack right as my heart comes to halt and drops to the bottom of my stomach. I can’t be seeing right. “Honey,” Dad calls, but my ears have started ringing with the amount of blood that rushes to the organs. I don’t believe in the holidays, but please Santa, please! Tell me that Orison has started a career in pornography, because I can see him on a live field, having sex with someone who isn’t me.

That night, we all sat in the living room watching a classic Christmas movie. Onscreen, in The Polar Express, Santa slid down a chimney with his giant sack of gifts, smiling at the children. I watched the screen, but all I could picture was the twisted figure Sophie described. Spider fingers, too many joints, a tilted head, standing perfectly still. Suddenly, it hit me. A gaping hole in Sophie's story.

A movie actually sounded nice because it's not everytime that they get the chance to sit and watch a movie, though Stephanie was an actress she didn't watch movies frequently; always busy learning a new script or something else. "It's Christmas Eve, so let's see... How about 12 days of Christmas?" She asked "Alright play it" he nodded While watching the movie, the power went out. It wasn't something that frequently happens but it did. "The power's out" Stephanie stated the obvious. "I'm sure it'll be back in a few minutes" he said "What do we do till then?" They were in the house alone, all the helpers had gone out to their families. "Talk I guess" he made himself comfortable
