Before love Lies
The soft hum of servers filled the room, steady and alive, like a heartbeat.
I stepped closer to one of the terminals. As the screen refreshed, my breath caught.

File after file appeared—classified, encrypted, redacted. I couldn’t make sense of it at first. My fingers hovered over the keyboard, then began to type instinctively, as if muscle memory knew what my mind did not.
Before I could finish the command, the mechanical voice returned, colder than before.
“Welcome, John Edison. Due to the confirmed death of John James Edison Sr., Plan B has been initiated.”
