"Chloe, I don't understand. Who came looking for you? What people?" Chloe pressed her lips together like she was deciding how much rope to give her. Then she exhaled slowly through her nose. "Whatever it is you're caught up in right now," she said, "whatever they want from you, just give it to them." She paused. "Those people, Natasha. They don't just threaten. They kill. And they are very good at making things look like accidents." Natasha stared at her. "Who are they?"

Naomi said, taking a bow and the presentation ended. Natasha ran off immediately, to a quiet spot. Took out her phone with shaky hands, and began hovering. Her phone fell off the second time, cracking the screen, and leaving her blind. She took out another phone from her handbag and hovered till she found a contact name, Clara, then she dialled. Natasha: “How dare you ruin my show?” Clara: “We waited long enough, you didn't show up in time.” Natasha: “Really? Like really? You now talk to me as it pleases your scalded tongue? Wow, interesting.”

Anger flashed across her face, and she was about to explode when Stanley's call came in, breaking the tense atmosphere. I answered and put it on speaker, and his upbeat voice rang out. "Nattie, are you there? You left your necklace on my bed. Do you want me to drop it off tomorrow?" A sarcastic smile tugged at my lips. Natasha's face immediately tensed up in panic as she rushed to explain, "I went out drinking with him. I just crashed on his bed for a bit, nothing happened—" "Cut ties with him," I said softly, wanting to give her one last chance.

Anger bubbled inside me, I clenched tightly on to the stem of my glass and my teeth clenched tightly that my jaw ached. “Then, what are you waiting for?” Natasha was saying and I only looked at her when I felt her hand on my chest, forcefully tearing my gaze away from Hazel and Clark, “you know, I hear that the restroom here is very spacious,” she stood on her tip toe to whisper in my ear. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, fighting to enjoy her flirt rather than think about what Clark was whispering to Hazel. Natasha bit her lip and winked at me, “would you like us to check it out and see if the rumors are true?”

I leaned slightly against the couch and allowed the silence to stretch just enough. “I wouldn’t exactly put it that way…” I began calmly. “But we do have a few scores to settle.” The look Natasha shot me this time could have burned through concrete. Mrs. Berlin blinked in surprise. “Really? She hasn’t mentioned anything to us.” “Mom,” Natasha cut in sharply. “It’s really nothing. Right, Mr. Laurent?” Ah. So now she wanted cooperation. I turned my head slowly toward her and raised a brow. “You think so?” Her eyes narrowed instantly and if looks could kill, I would have been dead twice already.

Leo seized the opportunity to free himself and quickly made for his room. “Come back here!” I yelled at him, ready to throw down the door if the need arose. Natasha blocked my path, stretching out her arms. “Leave it.” She said calmly. “I’m okay.” She said with a smile. But I could see beyond her facade. She wasn’t okay as she was trying to portray. Leo shut his door rudely, shaking the foundation of the house. I hissed but paid him no attention. I maneuvered myself around Natasha to grab the things I bought for her and returned to her. I grabbed her next and dashed straight for my room.

I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING but how much I always loved her. Even if she always was the one with the credits and everything, I loved her! I still do. Then why did she do all of this to me? Why...? Maybe I did something bad to her and she made me forget about it by controlling my mind. "You were so naive, Natasha," yeah, you've already stated that. She watched in silence as Natasha continued. “He took me to his friend’s place to stay for a while until things settle down a bit, before he took me home to my dad.” “Did you guys make out or something?” Dreda Jested. She became dumbstruck at Natasha’s sudden silence. Her eyes widened. The grin quickly vanished from her face. “Oh God! You made out with him, didn’t you?” She turned to look away. “Doesn’t matter now. Wish it had never happened.”

I wanted to sulk, pout, make him pamper me. But damn. I think I’m a freaking martyr. “Hey…” I breathed back, covering his hand with mine as I looked over my shoulder. Look who’s back. He turned his attention to Dean, who was arching his brows—finally getting the hint to back off. “You again?” Michael said coolly, standing a couple inches taller. “I just bumped into Natasha. Didn’t know she wasn’t alone. You really shouldn’t let a pretty woman like her wander around alone,” Dean said, like it was a damn PSA.
