The heart pulses again. The valley trembles. Snow slides down the ridge. And suddenly— the creatures behind the first line begin moving faster. Not walking anymore. Running. Ingrid curses. “They’re going straight for the mountain.” Elias watches them. “…yeah that’s not great.” Gran’s voice shakes. “If they reach the heart before we understand what it’s doing—” Kasper finishes calmly. “Then the crossing completes.” The threads flare violently. The mountain roars. The creatures continue running.

Human bodies and creatures of all shapes and sizes were lying all around. The ground was piling up with carcasses and everyone was starting to move up to higher ground. “ROOOOOOAAAAARRRR!” came a loud cried. It sent shivers down everyone’s spine. The beasts all cowered down and some leaped back into the black hole. Everyone looked into the sky and saw a huge cloud of black mist. It’s eyes was white like the horrendous beasts.
