My claws sliced through flesh that wasn’t truly flesh, just dense clouds of malice bound into form. Each time they dissolved into mist, more surged forward, clawing, biting, screaming.

Setting the body on my territory line, I made sure to nudge it as far away as I could. Going back to the other beast, I grabbed it and dragged it to the line as well. When I came back, there were others, standing on the line in front of the one I had dragged. All of them were on guard as I approached. Watching them intently, I pushed their rotten-smelling kin over the line.
