I smelt his wolf the first time I ever walked into this bar. When he didn’t work the next full moon, it reassured me. I knew exactly what he was, but I’m sure someone figured it out long before I did. I wonder sometimes what doors would be closed to me if I had to change every full moon. Even though it takes so much more than a scrape to contract lycanthrope, people fear it almost as much as the now extinct HIV. Mostly, lycanthropy is hereditary, but some horrible attacks have been known to bring it on.

He looks at me in shock "ANSWER ME" - I shout "Let’s go to my room and talk" - he says I am losing my shit, I can still hear her voice saying she pleased him, she touched him, I feel something inside of me take over, I feel pain and I fall on the floor and I scream. Faye smiled as they rejoined the crowd in movement. "This is actually more fun than it is dreadful." Ryuu grinned, "I thought we'd be dead by now." "Careful, they could hear you." She warned, a slight grin on her face. "I'm not too worried about that. We've got Alpha Nick and a terrifying Emris." "Since when are you team Lycan?" "Um, since I had no choice but to stay here?" Faye laughed. Meanwhile, Mabel held back a laugh as she watched Emris shoot daggers at Ryuu.

They reached the high ridge just in time to see the first of the monsters step from the tree line. It was massive. Twice the size of any wolf, its fur blackened and mottled like burned earth. From its eyes poured trails of black fire, weeping as if mourning its own existence. Its claws dragged sparks from the stone, and its mouth twisted into something too wide, too wrong. Lyra inhaled sharply. “Stay behind me,” Kaelen ordered, drawing his blade—obsidian etched with ward-sigils, glowing faintly. But Lyra didn’t stay back.

"That includes everything. There's nothing wrong with me wanting to see what's mine." She backed up immediately. He closed the remaining distance in a single movement — Lycan speed, there and then just there, no transition between — and she froze, the sheet clutched to her chest, eyes wide with the particular shock of someone who had only ever read about what Lycans could do. He caged her between his arms, silver hair falling across one eye, close enough that she had to tilt her head back to look at him properly. "Going somewhere, little wolf?"

They moved with an unnatural, jerky gait, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy. Lennon took down the first monster with a swift kick to the chest, his claws flashing in the dim light. Alpha Luther followed up with a crushing blow, his massive paws swiping through the air with deadly precision. I darted between the two, my agility and quick reflexes allowing me to dodge the monsters' clumsy attacks. My claws sliced through the air, striking true again and again as I wove between the enemy ranks. But despite our best efforts, the monsters just kept coming. They seemed endless, a tide of twisted flesh and razor-sharp claws that threatened to engulf us.
