It was warm. “Your head temperature is normal, so why are some parts of your body this cold?” I asked, touching other parts as well. Werewolves were known for high body temperature. Their bodies started getting cold only when they were dying. “Why? Worried that I might die?” he chuckled, clearly enjoying my reaction. I tried to remove my hand from his body when he grabbed it and placed it on his puffed-tattooed chest. “It’s okay. You can touch me. I won’t mind after all; I’m your husband.”

His hair is purple today—he usually changes the color once every several weeks. I take off my coat and join Voros in the kitchen. Two mugs of mulled wine are on the table and Voros offers me one. Sitting in my chair, I take a sip, letting the wine warm my chilled body. The cold in this realm is different from the one in the Human Realm; this one sticks to my bones, and even if I sit in front of the fireplace for hours, my hands and feet are as cold as ice. Stew is cooking on the stove, reminding me I haven’t eaten anything since this morning.

Kulv shivered from the cold after Mahi opened the cold storage room where the meat, fruits, vegetables, and other kinds of food like rice, were stored to delay their spoiling. “Let’s find the best that we could find.” Hail spoke and entered the cold storage room. “Uh, I think, we better stay here since it is really very cold here – whoa!” Kulv exclaimed after Hail suddenly pulled him inside! Skye chuckled behind them as he and Mahi, who smiled, followed after them before they closed the door to keep the cold air from going outside. “Ah! It is very cold here!” Kulv exclaimed as he kept rubbing his arms to keep himself warm. His entire body is shivering from the cold.

"Honey, you have to wait a few minutes for the water to be heated; the heater is old, so it takes a while. It's not working correctly," I explained, and he frowned slightly, perhaps because he was rich and powerful; he had never had humble people's problems like those; I bet he had never been in a tight spot because of lack of money in life. "We have to wait?" He asked, and I nodded in response and hugged him again. "They say that cold water is also good for mitigating pain," I muttered. "No, you could still get hypothermia. We really need to change that heater," he said, denying my thoughts while he was caressing my back.

Nonetheless, she could not show the slightest tinge of discomfort, and she displayed the perfect smile which she had been practicing for a long time. From head to toe, her entire body was freezing cold. This year, the winter in Taadi City was extraordinarily harsh, and it was negative ten degrees Celsius even after new year. With that, Hilda could barely feel her ears anymore. "Are you ready?" She felt Nathan's warm breath on her ears. It was so chilly that even Hilda's brain was nearly frozen as she prepared herself to walk against the piercing wind. "Huh?" Before she could realize what had happened, her body fell backward into a pair of warm arms all of a sudden.

She clutched her stomach due to the sharp pain caused in her lower abdomen. Zared picked up the jug of water kept on her side on the table and poured it all on her head in one go. She gasped for air and swept her hair from her face and looked down at the water sliding down her, her body started shivering, even though it was sunny outside and no sign of even a cold breeze was present, she was shivering, out of the cold she felt, the fear she felt.

Perhaps that's the reason why Giovanni insisted on eating healthy. But as far as I know, it's not working. Goes a long way to prove that eating healthy doesn't really make you healthy. I stepped under the shower and turned it on. The cold water hits my body, but I have become too numb to register the bite on my skin. The first few days were hard, but as I only take cold showers morning and night, I have become accustomed to the coldness. Even though it's autumn now in Albuquerque and the cold has started to settle in, I still don't feel cold when I take a cold bath. Which worries Maria every time.

Do you get it? I switch on the heater and I start stripping my clothes one by one as I walk towards the shower. I turn the valve left and the water starts flowing, at first the water is warm and then it gets hotter and hotter with every passing second and weirdly enough I don't mind. After a couple of minutes I have to leave the shower (sadly) because Jason keeps telling me that the food will get cold. I dry myself and apply some lotion on my body as I make my way towards the pile of clothes Jason had given me.

"Don't be an idiot, Julian. It's freezing in here." He wasn't wrong. The room was notoriously drafty, and the rusted radiator in the corner was emitting a pathetic, hissing sound that produced absolutely zero heat. The temperature outside was dropping into the low twenties, and the thin glass of the window was already icing over. "I'm fine," I lied, kicking off my shoes and lying down on the floor. I pulled the scratchy blanket over my chest, staring rigidly at the popcorn ceiling. Kael let out a sharp breath, shaking his head. "Suit yourself, martyr."

The air became warm. Not hot. Comfortably warm. Like standing beneath early morning sunlight. Then... Something stepped out of the mist. Not fully. Just enough for Grayson to see movement. A massive paw. Silver fur. Claws larger than daggers. The ground cracked beneath its weight. Another step. The hooded followers lowered their heads even further. One of them began quietly weeping. The Prophet whispered a single sentence. "Welcome home..." Inside the Temple... The heartbeat suddenly stopped. Complete silence followed.
