Cold Trap Novel Novels & Stories

My heels echoed faintly against the marble floor, and with every step, my heart pounded faster. When I reached the top of the staircase, I saw two doors facing each other across the hallway. Right or left? I whispered under my breath. She said the first door on your right, I reminded myself. So I turned the handle of the right door without thinking twice. And froze. "Dead frozen." My breath caught in my throat. My body went stiff. "Fuck," I whispered under my breath. "What have I done?" Because there he was Damian Cole completely naked, water dripping from his body, a towel in his hand, his hair wet and glistening. He must have just come out of the shower.

There definitely must be some inferior motive. Maybe it's just me, but like I said before, I'm having a hard time believing in people nowadays. No matter how I see it, I can't let myself believe he is doing all this out of humanity. Why would he take the risk to free me when he could get him in trouble? At the end of the day, he is involved in illegal stuff and I can easily go to the police and report their names. A part of me still believes that they are trying to trap me and this is all a scheme. Like I have seen in so many movies where shit like this happens and, in the end, it just happens to be a trap.

I stop laughing immediately, and Claire realizes why. He is close. I can smell him, and I can feel my heart thumping loudly against my ribcage. “Has he ever hit anyone? “. I ask in fear. “You are his mate, he won’t lay a finger on you”, she says, avoiding stating the obvious. “You did not answer my question” “Fine. He does, but trust me, he would never hit you. At least, not intentionally”. Don Richardo comes into the room. “It is time to go,” he says, and I stand up quickly, bow my head and try to leave. He pulls me and walks quickly into a room. From all indications, it is his bedroom.

They unlocked the iron bolts, shoved me brutally inside the dark bedroom, and slammed the door shut right in my face. The sound of the iron keys turning in the lock echoed through the quiet room like a final death sentence. I was trapped again. I walked back to the bed and collapsed onto the edge of the mattress, my body shaking with an uncontrollable chill that had nothing to do with the winter weather. I looked down at my hands, then slowly moved them until they were resting flat over my stomach, feeling the tiny heartbeat of my unborn child hidden deep inside me. The trap was fully set. The hours were ticking away. Dominic was about to marry Vivian, Elder Rona was preparing to open the ga

THE UGLY TRUTH Author’s Narration (Flashback of the murder of Zella’s parents) Winter held the whole city in a strong grip. The heating system groaned, but the wind still slipped through the curtains. Frost crawled over the tall windows, locking out the world and turning the Midnight estate into its own little ice palace.

Now they were taken in those leather bags and I watched, feeling an uncomfortable feeling in my chest as they were they thrown into the ocean like a pile of trash. Soon, what they would throw in there like that would be my body. I didn’t want to stay here. I couldn’t risk it. I have to find a way to leave at any chance. As if the goddess or God was sending me options, someone knocked on my door just then and when I opened it, I was surprised to find Kain. He was holding a few bags of snacks and it didn’t look like Landon was close by. “Aren’t you going to invite me in?” He tilted his head, smiling at me so I opened the door wider and stepped away to allow him entry. I couldn’t help but remem

came to her with the next freezing blast of wind. Still running, Emma’s hand was fumbling for the 30.06 when she tripped over the front stairs to the cabin. Dragging herself up, she turned the knob and slammed the door behind her, securing every lock as fast as her dying fingers would allow. Even inside, the humming drifted through the cracks around the entryway. The gun lifted in her hands, eyes flitting to each shuttered window. Dad underestimated this thing. None of this is going to keep it out. This place is a fucking deathtrap!

A little chuckle escaped her lips, and she pulled out the spare key Lilico had given her and inserted it back again. She moved back and kicked the door open just like she did the first time, only to meet yet another darkness of the room. “Can you stop breaking into my room, like a criminal?” Tardrain hissed in pure annoyance, running his fingers into his hair in frustration. She ignored his words and dragged her luggage alongside her and entered the room. She looked around to see all the windows and curtains closed up, blocking all the light and air. “Why…why did you close up everywhere, again?” Ivana asked, looking around with a dropped jaw. Wondering how could someone be obsessed with dar

CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR : SNAKE NOVA POV Every cell in my body screamed don’t touch her. Don’t let her reel you in. But Lena was watching, Katie too. They saw an escort. They saw a friend. They didn’t see the snake in red. So I forced my lips into something that resembled a smile, lifted my trembling hand, and slid it into hers. Her fingers closed tight around mine, too tight. And just like that, I felt the trap snap shut around me.
