I flip the rest of the book looking for anything that sticks out. The curse ment for my mother was onew of the last things written in the book. After that is page after page of scribbled drawings of a demonic figure. I am not sure what these drawings might mean, but they are very dark, and they give me the creeps. on the very last page is one sentence "The visions are getting worse, I fear that he plans to usae me to exact his own revenge."

Although they don't look like ordinary people with different hair colors, eyes, and species, except for Camila, I'm not afraid of them. I'm having a good time chatting with them, and I learned much about who they are. Saye, Arlo, and Jippis are demons. I thought demons were scary and ugly looking, red with horns, and had a snake-like tongue, always red and surrounded by fire to represent hell that wants to eat your soul. You always see them on Halloween posters or costumes; Saye, Arlo, and Jippis don't look like that. They don't look scary at all. I feel like they came out of a comic book, like a superhero.

Apparently, she knew him. "Why do demons' eyes glow red when they look at you?" I asked curiously and she chuckled softly. "Oh dear, when a demon's eyes turn red when they're looking at you it means that they are attracted to you or very angry. The brighter the red the more they're into you or the angrier they are. Why? Do Noah's eyes turn red?" I nodded with a frown. "Cheer up, that means you've won half the battle," my wolf growled. I rolled my eyes and rested my head against the seat.

One woman, on the other hand, looks like an anime in her dress and even her long hair. The sky suddenly darkened. They noticed the change in the color of their eyes. These demons have unusual eyes. The irises are red, but the whites of the eyes are as black as typical demons. Also, a faint buzzing could be heard around them. Much like the sound of locusts. “What the hell are they?” Raven asked. “They are demons, of course,” Kyra said.

They are all black with white tips. Alex says that’s how they know that my mother, whoever she was, was an Angel. My demon side is shown through the color change in my eyes. Angels have white/silver eyes, and Demons have neon green eyes and fangs. My eyes are neon green, and I have fangs. Angels don’t develop tattoos as wings. They have wings from the moment they are born. Demons develop tattoos that turn into wings. However, their wings are leathery and clawed; instead of feathered. That’s how they know that I’m a hybrid.

The details were adorable — she'd even included Kane and Zane as slightly taller stick figures in the background. “Those are your powers,” Amelia explained seriously, pointing to each colorful line. “The red is for vampire, brown is for wolf, blue is for witch, purple is for demon, and the gold is for angel. Each one had a short description alongside a sketched photo of the demon themself and a symbol. I’d read through each one, finally landing on Chaos. He looked different than the rest of the sketches, as if he were a last minute add to the book. The drawing of him was smeared, as if the artist rushed. His symbol was different. Less intricate than the others.

Instead, I walked into my closet, picking out a sweatshirt and basketball shorts. "You can wear this for the night. I don't think it'll be smart for you to return to your room tonight." I could see the displeasure in her eyes, but she said nothing. Even though she was mad, she knew she couldn't fight off the demon herself. The other demons would have gotten the sign by now that two of their own were lost. They'd be furious and thirsty for blood. Not just any blood. Ayra's blood. She was better off staying where I could see her. The demons had no chance of getting in here. The house had a spell around it that kept demons away. It had cost a fortune to find a sorcerer that could cast the spell
