I don’t know why, but something is rotten in my gut and it’s never wrong. We storm through the building, Roddy’s being the last room at the end of the long ass hallway. The door is locked and Grouch sticks his ear to it, then backs up and kicks it open. The immediate stench of death I know all too well hits my nose and I can’t believe nobody has noticed it. It’s at least fifteen doors from mine. Missile and Grouch storm in, but I can already see the lifeless body of Ryan “Roddy” Grimes on the bed. I step in the room and see a needle sticking right out of his fucking arm. His skin is already discolored, he’s been dead a couple days. And nobody even realized it. Some brotherhood we are.

He needs to be put down. Xander- you killed your mother and your still here! Logan- xander ! Jordan- what? Troy- is that true? Cody- yes I did!.. I see, well then since all the wolfs in power are here. I will state my case and if it means death then let it be so. Logan- Cody you did nothing wrong.

I knew I wasn't supposed to ask for the second time, but I just couldn't help myself. “He's dead, Your Majesty,” The deputy commander finally revealed. “This soldier just confessed that it was River Kincaid who gave the ordered to have him killed before he entered the pack.”

It was William, the Alpha from the Ice Plains Pack, standing behind me. His voice was filled with sorrow, "When you sent him to the Ice Plains, I knew he died painfully. But I didn’t expect... "You have to know that none of this is real!" "Right!" I shouted and looked at the Angel of Death, pointing his arrow towards Cody. He released his grip on the arrow, and it headed straight for Cody. "No," I shouted and rushed to save Cody, but I was too late as the arrow met with his shoulder, striking him. "Cody!" I shouted his name and placed him in my arms as I cried. "You don’t have to do this to me!" I screamed. "Rain," Cody called out to me. "I am dying!" he cried out. "I couldn’t escape from the mirror and was brought here. The master told me that I was going to die here in front of you."

"Cody, my son, you must defeat Maximus. You must become Chieftain. I am proud of you, Cody. I always have been. Tell your mother good bye for me. I love you, Cody. It's time to let me go. Let me rest in the arms of our great moon goddess." Cody cries and kisses his father's cheek. He has no words to say back to him. He is in shock that his hero has fallen today. Chief Wolfpaw's breath leaves him, and I can see Cody's chest tighten from where I am standing. I can only hold Maximus off for so long. Cody uses his hand and closes his father's eyes. The great green dragon takes Chief Wolfpaw's body away from the battlefield. He carries Cody away from the scene and Cody's heart is broken.

His expensive leather uniform was shredded, covered in deep, jagged claw marks, and his entire left arm was soaked in dark, thick blood. Korr lunged past Damon, his blade slicing through the thick oil rope above my head. I hit the mud hard, gasping, a violent, ragged breath rushing into my burning lungs as I choked. "Korr..." Rylan gasped, his knees buckling as he collapsed into the freezing mud, his chest heaving as he stared up at the Commander. "Vex... the pack... they overthrew the eastern sector. They killed everyone. Jace... Jace is dead."

“They killed twenty-one Alphas and he just killed the Gamma.” “I said stand down,” I shouted. The commander’s eyes burned into mine. “You should thank me for not cutting through all of you to get here,” he said. “You dare threaten us?” one of the elders snapped. “You killed twenty-one kings. Do you expect us to just stand by?” The commander stepped closer to me, ignoring the others. “My people didn’t do this,” he said firmly. “I would stake my life on it.” Elder Grayson barked. “So we are supposed to believe you? Twenty-one of our leaders, dead in one night, and it’s just a coincidence your people were here?”

A child who obeys the commandments and will not turn a deaf ear to the commands of his/her parents. "Those sinners who killed, murdered or whatsoever was destined to have karmic death," then this time it hit me. My father dies because of the karmic fate of one of them. One of Albus and Hailey. "You got it right!" I immediately looked up at him. He seems to be reading my mind again. His face is serious, not mocking nor grinning. For some unknown reason, anger welled up inside me. That explains why I don't see a grim reaper behind my father because he wasn't destiny to die. It is their fault.

“Humans turned our own blood and vampire plasma into luxury medicine.” Now, my pulse races. He came. So where is he? Why isn’t he here? “Yes,” the commander says, breaking into my thoughts. “Did.” My smile falters. Did? My stomach drops. His expression is unreadable. “Alpha Octavius and the wolves who came to retrieve you are dead.” The world stops. No. No. No. “Gunned down.” He finishes. I stare at him. My body goes numb. Dead? No. That’s impossible.
