I said firmly, “tell me what’s going on. I know you know something. Levi left this morning and won’t answer my calls. I deserve to know why.” James hesitated, and I could hear him shifting uncomfortably. “Miss, I’m sorry. I can’t tell you anything. I’m bound by confidentiality.” Confidentiality? Confidentiality from what? My stomach twisted in fear and suspicion. This was getting more worrying by the minute. “James,” I paused. “Listen to me. This isn’t just a matter of confidentiality. This is about Levi’s safety, and maybe mine. If you know anything about what’s going on, I need you to tell me right now.”

But she can’t be underestimated. Ruby, the innocent girl was dead a long time ago. “I did all I could. I don’t know why but I feel good after telling what’s bothering me for many months.” Charlotte let out a sign and kept all the phones down. Soon, she came out of the room to realize it was almost 4:00 pm. “Whoa, I have never stayed in a room for many hours,” she told her sisters as Caleb went inside next. This day went on forever. The last person entering the room was Ruby. It’s already night when the Lowe’s siblings confess every important detail of their life after the murder.

I really shouldn't be touching James, but I felt it was the right move at the moment to keep him talking. "Does Gayle know about the murder, James?" I squeezed his hands and moved my hand away, sitting down next to Ben. James' head came up, "What? No, way. She knows about Michael, at least some stuff. I never told her everything. But I don't think she even suspected me. I'm a different man now. I love her. I love my kids. I tried to frame Lenore so that I could stay with them. But I don't want Gayle dragged into this, it's the whole reason I'm confessing. This has gone on long enough." He said passionately and I believed him.

He growled as he turned back around. "This is what I mean. This is why I won't trust you," he snarled. "You appear and disappear like that shit is normal. You mess around in people's heads and keep secrets, but you're still spying in our heads and asking us to trust you. I am done with you." Mr Patrick didn't seem concerned about his anger, which pissed him off more. He turned to walk away. He had a mate to protect, so he had to find a weakness in the patrols. He had no time for games.

Everything with James and I has been a whirlwind and we never got the opportunity to truly revisit his confession from the hospital. Not to mention, he just found out that Chris and I weren’t entirely human. “Have you heard anything from the rogues? Any leads on who might have done something like this?” James questioned Dante, breaking me from my train of thought. “Everyone has gone silent,” Dante frowned, his brows pinching together. “That’s never a good sign.”

"What's the matter, man? I've been staring at you for hours now, waiting for you to speak, and you're silent about it. What's the problem?" Charles questioned, and Patrick sighed before standing up and walking back to his office chair. "I don't know. It just seems to me like I had sex with one of my mother's maids last night, but I'm trying to think of it as a lie. But seeing the stain on my mattress and how she blushed while staring at me at our dining table, I just felt guilty and scared," Patrick admitted, and Charles burst out laughing again, making Patrick angrier.
