I tried to keep my mind off of what he’d told me, but I couldn’t. I wanted to know who this person was and if they could really help. I needed to know their ties and how they planned to get us in. I wanted answers, but until Xander met with him and determined whether he was reliable, my questions would go unanswered.

POV Isabella Di’Giotanno. After the interrogation with Dr. Matsuo, it’s time to call Colonel Liam Williams. The man is a specialist in international competitive intelligence, so I presume he will be a tough nut to corrupt. I plan to let the kids do the questioning and see how far he will share freely and if he doesn’t cooperate, then I will have to use my new gift. “Actually, that’s a good idea, girl.” Aika comments thoughtfully.

I reply while bouncing on the balls of my feet. Moments later our door opens and my mate walks in looking stressed. My smile dims and I meet him in the middle of our room. His arms wrap around my waist and my hands begin to rub his back. Just like they did when he shifted after throwing Rosy. "What's wrong," I whisper and he sighs. "Hilda is putting a massive amount of trust into two Alphas that I dislike," he growls and I step back so I can study his face. "Trust your sister Gunnar. She has been dealing with them for years. She wouldn't put trust into anyone that didn't earn it," I say while stroking his beard.
