~Kylie’s Point of View~ My dad always said the best way to kill someone would be a snake bite. Literally no one would ever suspect it to be from a shifter, it would be a clean kill. No forensics, no autopsy. Just a poor bastard in the wrong place at the wrong time. A true shapeshifter is still basically a myth to most. That’s partly why I chose to show the pack because your own eyes can’t lie. Though I’d never killed anyone and sure as hell never imagined I would. But it’s beyond personal now. “I thought long and hard about this. I want to make your death memorable. Something fitting for a man like you.” He paused, “So, tell me which you’d prefer: should I skin you alive and then burn you? Or maybe electrocute you to death? No, wait… my personal favorite—” He grinned wickedly. “Bury you alive in a coffin filled with mice, so they have to eat you to survive. What do you think?” I murmured something under my breath, my voice too low for him to hear. “What was that?” he asked, leaning closer, his curiosity piqued. “Come on, don’t be shy. Which one will it be?”

That was probably the same look I gave him. “You know, drowning is the fourth most painful way to die.” She crinkles her nose in a slightly disgusted way, “What? No it isn’t.” I nod, “I’m pretty sure I read it in an article once.” She rolls her eyes, “Is this your way of telling me that it was foolish of me to try to kill myself and I should appreciate the true meaning of life?” She says in an over-the-top theatrical way that makes me smirk. “It isn’t and trust me it wouldn’t help if I did.”

If I lost that final memento, I would surely go mad. William extended his hand toward me. “Welcome, my new packmate.” I heard that after I left, Anthony was deposed. He spent his nights dreaming of his son, but he could no longer feel his presence. He claimed that I was heartless for not even telling him where our son’s grave was. He visited the oldest witch in the pack and finally learned that I had hidden Andrew’s resting place in the Icefields. One day, I saw Anthony dead before Andrew’s grave. "Damn! That's real brutal of her!" Cyrus was greatly astonished. "Most people would either choose to jump from a building, slit their wrists, or take sleeping pills when they try to take their own lives, just so that they won't die a painful death. I can't believe that she actually dared to shoot herself. She was really determined to die!"

She retches a few times, with the sound of the tide roaring in her ears. Is this... how she's going to die? Not being killed by a ruthless serial killer or falling into a trap set up by a deceitful liar, but dying in such a trivial, unexpected, and inglorious way like a helpless mouse trapped in a drain when a flood strikes?
