A brown swing chair with thin white cushions will be the first to welcome you into the space, with their clinging wind chimes. The balcony is lined with tempered glass and a black aluminum rim for hand-railing. Cassius’ POV~~ Second day of the conference. We were all sitting down on a fur-covered couch behind a sturdy, rustic table crafted from weathered wood adorned with intricate carvings of wolves, moons, and ancient symbols. The surface of the table was scarred and worn, bearing the marks of countless gatherings. The tables’ legs are shaped like tree trunks.

A floating shelf beneath it holds exactly one book, a remote, and what I think is a small sculpture made of obsidian. The couch is a giant L-shape in matte charcoal leather, low to the ground and way too masculine for throw pillows. Of course there are no pillows. Or blankets. Or warmth. It’s kind of couch you sit on only after being invited, and even then, you sit up straight. The coffee table is a black slab of stone, no coasters, no magazines, no half-finished cups of coffee. There’s a fireplace, but it’s more like a design element than a source of comfort. Gas, of course, with sharp glass stones instead of logs. And even the air smells clean. Like cedarwood and expensive control issues.

If there was one thing I genuinely liked about this school, it was the cafeteria. Beyond the food, the design and layout stirred the art-loving student inside me. Of all the schools I’d been to, ANHS was the oasis when it came to comfort and design. Ten round tables, each with four bolted chairs, stood out as masterpieces. Circular patterns of twigs and leaves decorated the tabletop. The chairs themselves were crafted intricately—the edges shaped like oak wood, colored in a matching brown shade. The seats, a darker brown, connected to the floor through a single stem resembling a tree stump, all bolted securely.

On either side of this luxurious lounge were two chairs, white this time, with some red design on the seat and back. A glass coffee table stood proudly in the center of all the couches, resting on a simple white rug. On the backside of the couch combo were numerous chairs and a small, round table surrounded by more wood chairs, looking to be the same shade from the kitchen. Above the single sofa, there was a sketch of a wolf, mystic and gallant. The pride and honor shone from the posture and elegance radiated in the gracefulness of the lines. I took a few steps forward, inching to the picture, only to find all the lines were made up of a great deal of different names.

A wood and glass staircase completed the entry way. In the living room there were two large couches and two recliners all in matching cream-colored fabric, with black throw pillows. The room had an over-sized coffee table made of live-edge wood and it was sitting atop an area rug that was the same color as the furniture. The couches were flanked by smaller tables of the same design, and they had tableside lights that had black bases and cream-colored shades. The best spot for the wall plugs was the other end of the couch, so I plugged in the wand and settled into the spot.
