The Art of Deception
I didn't know where I was going, I just knew I had to get away from the motel, away from the heartache.
As I drove, the city gave way to suburbs, and the suburbs gave way to countryside. The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape. But I didn't notice. I was too caught up in my own pain, my own heartache.
Eventually, I found myself on a quiet country road, the only sound the hum of my engine and the occasional hoot of an owl. I pulled over to the side of the road, putting the car in park as I let out a deep sigh.
