The Mafia Princess

The Mafia Princess

Nikolai “I missed this place.” Hope said as we entered the property on the aptly named Attitude Adjustment Road. It is immediately clear to even the most discerning connoisseur of life that you have crossed over into a different world. ‘Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both’ I said, absentmindedly reciting Robert Frost’s poem. ‘I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.’

The Ultimate Husband

The Ultimate Husband

Penny trembled as she opened her mouth slightly and read Darryl’s poem. “Over old trees wreathed with ancient vines and flying evening crows. “Under a small bridge at a nearby cottage, a stream flows. “On an ancient road in the west wind, a lean horse goes. “Westward the setting sun goes. “Far from home was the heartbroken one!” Westward the setting sun goes. Far from home was the heartbroken one! The entire city rumbled in cheers in the blink of an eye. It was a great poem! There was nothing like it!

The Road He Didn't Take

The Road He Didn't Take

I was so insistent on holding onto what has never belonged to me. When I came around once more, the narrow road behind me was already filled with traffic. I had no time to lose. I took a deep breath and knelt in front of Francis. "Francis, it's all my fault, but my father is innocent. Can you please clear a path and send him to the hospital?" I prostrated myself and bowed to the ground in front of him, baffling the other surrounding drivers. "My father has lost consciousness due to a cerebral hemorrhage. His life is at stake! I'm begging you, only you have such powers!"

I jumped on one at 2am. Imagine getting onto a motorcycle ride at 2am with a stranger. I was so scared but I had no choice. Suppose he killed me, rapped me, kidnapped me or robbed me! I started imagining alot of things. What kind of relationship was I into?I prayed to God to help me reach home safe

Three-Years Contract Marriage with the Billionaire

Three-Years Contract Marriage with the Billionaire

I thought about the specific and building quality of the water behind the thing. I thought: it's going to happen. I thought: and you are in the car with him. I thought: and that is all right. The road appeared. "Here," I said. "Turn here." He turned. The road was the one I remembered, the specific and particular quality of a Connecticut back road in November, the stone walls on either side, the particular and skeletal quality of the trees without their leaves, the way the road curved through the landscape with the unhurried and specific quality of a road that had been there long enough to know where it was going and was not in a hurry to arrive.

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

Outside, snow covered the road south—toward the border, toward the place where a black wolf had once stood in the moonlight and believed I was his. The snow erased the road. When morning came, the road would still be there. And so would I. THE END

My Gangster Maid

My Gangster Maid

He put his helmet and on and off he goes. Ten pm and the road is still alive. It might be a wonder if people do sleep. Roads are loud untill dawn—city that never sleeps. From above view, city lights are breath taking. Raven roads like an eagle—fast as if he is in a racing track. Light was like only a flash of lightning, cars where like shadows as he pass by, glitching as he goes. People turn their heads to him like he was a flash.

Mated to the Hellhound Alpha

Mated to the Hellhound Alpha

The wind had picked up, wet and cold and biting into any exposed flesh without apology. They passed towns and cities, each smaller than the last until it seemed there was no life left out on the moors except the handful of men and women on bikes and in trucks. They were speeding down the road which sliced through the never-ending blanket of grey boulders covered in pale moss and rust coloured flora that dipped and rose like waves, frozen in time. The road was surprisingly well paved despite its remoteness, the black asphalt shot off into the distance and eventually disappeared from view under the looming mountain range.

Long road to go

Long road to go

I have to talk to dad regarding the car, allowance like I need it for something. Looking around the town, Rowena is really boring. On the route I am going I can see some bakeries, coffeehouses, restaurants, people running somewhere, I wonder if this town has an elite area, and where it is. I am standing in front of Rowena Highschool, my only goal today is not to kill anyone and just to stay as invisible as I can, see how things work, and step aside. I just want to finish this and see what the hell I am going to do with my life later. Entering the school I asked the guard where the principal's office was and started walking that way. The school does not look that bad, it looks poor but I gues

Road to Desire

Road to Desire

Danielle I stared down at my dashboard console and willed the check engine light to stop the infernal red glow. How I got where I was, I had no freaking clue, which meant I had no freaking clue how to find the freeway entrance to get home. “You are an idiot, Dani,” I whispered out loud. As if on a mission from the devil, my nineteen ninety-nine Honda shuddered, then back-fired, slowing to a crawl as I inched forward down a non-descript side street. Why Portland didn’t have better signage was beyond me.
