“A dark caramel skinned man, with long brown hair. Hazel eyes. He looked like he’s from Native American descent. Quite handsome, that man.” A wave of relief washed over Cheyenne nearly knocked her over. It was Skylar. “W-what did he want?” “He wanted to thank you, for saving his wolf.” “Oh.” Cheyenne mumbled, turning away from the old woman, continuing her task of cutting tomatoes. “You want to know something funny, Cheyenne?” Cheyenne tenses a bit at Greta using her name instead of calling her ‘dear’. “I don’t ever remember you saving a wolf. In fact, we rarely get wolves and I always remember your successes.”

Charlotte started reading the fourth book right after she woke up in the morning. It was past noon now and she was about to finish it. She skipped the parts that she had already read in other books. After reading them she had concluded something. Whatever idea the humans had about werewolves may not entirely be true but it was close. Sure, the seriousness and depth of this world were beyond human imagination but they have been successful in getting the tip right. Humans were right about the mates, about the shifting, about moon goddess, and the mindlink. When she read those werewolf romances back at her home, she had just dismissed them as nothing but fiction. Never in her wildest dreams had

I look up at her in confusion. "What do you mean?" She shrugs and eyes me cautiously. "Well, newly mated couples have a hard time keeping their hands to themselves. Even if one is a human they still feel that bond. The need to be close. Callum and I didn't leave the bedroom for almost a week after he first marked me." She chuckled. "Does he make you happy?" I ask quietly. "Oh incredibly happy. He's my other half, my best friend. I love him more than anything. Except miss Gracie here." She smiles fondly at her baby.

That hope though, was yet again crushed by a letter uncle Zander handed me with pain filled eyes. The letter was from Lilly, it was an apology issued to mom, pops and me for how she reacted to her and I being mated. She went on to explain that whilst she understands the importance of mates in the werewolf society she is just a human girl and doesn't consider herself strong enough to be mated to a wolf. she begged for our forgiveness and understanding and further on requested that I should not try to contact her.

After I beat up some hoodlums on the streets just to satiate my lust for their screams and agony, smearing my whole luxurious suit with their blood, it gave me an exhilirating feeling of comfort. Who wouldn't have thought on that same night, Atticus would scream on my ear that our "fated mate" was nearby. In a form of a human girl as she was being chased by other wolves while carrying a child with her. A human? Of all things?! And based on her scent as lingering right after I went inside the building, it was a scent of the human from the "other border". The mortal enemies of the wolves, the predecessors of the Human Hunters who had lost against the war against us years ago.

He sighs and pulls out his cell and calls our hospital pharmacy placing an order to treat her. "we can't afford this,Gemma sighs, she will flip over another bill. We plan to leave this town anyway",dad glares at me. "son I would like a word with you and Lucas",he growls storming out. I reluctantly follow. "explain now?",he looks ready to throw me. "she is human both are dad never got their wolves and remain human we got so many after us and now we have to protect human mates on top. This is already hard enough ",he sighs.

My eyes wandered around looking for their target. I ignored everyone's stares and whispers and kept looking for her. I walked through the cafeteria until I came in front of a girl. I was yet to see her face as her head was facing down while she was eating. I stood there like a creep unable to say a thing to her but I was certain that she is the one. Her scent awakened Ryker, my wolf who was fighting for control to come to the surface. I was fighting to remain in control because this was not thr place to wolf out. Our mate is human too so that would definitely be traumatic for her.

"Technically Liam went through the first one and then Alo hit the same spot and went completely through. They're big wolves." "And they're still allowed in the house?" "They keep finding their way back in." I turn to face him. "Is Alo going to be weird with me forever? I get that I'm an outsider, but he should've expected you'd be mated to a human." "Did he say something to you?" "No, he just...doesn't — like he'd be acknowledging someone beneath him." Harvey sighs. "He isn't much better with us, but next time you see him, he'll be more respectful, don't worry."

Ethan was flipping through an old book, but paused to address me, "I'm Ethan, resident book enthusiast." I chuckled, feeling a bit more at ease. "Nice to meet you, Ethan. I'm Tanya. So, what's the most interesting thing you've found in those old books?" Ethan's eyes gleamed. "Oh, tales of forgotten worlds and hidden realms. It's like each page holds a secret waiting to be discovered." Ryan, with a mischievous grin, interjected, "And this is the guy who turns reading into an adventure. By the way, I’m the mischief-maker of Moonlight Haven."
