Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it. Tears flowed down my face as the pain became immeasurable, increasing with each second to the point I was unable to tolerate it. I could care less about the gazes on me. I was already used to it.

I nodded. Before I could make it to the white leather sofa to wait, an Amazonian blonde sashayed out of the Greyson's office, grinning like she'd just had the best sex of her life. She paused as she past me, casting her gaze down my podgy body. Her freckled nose curled in disgust. "Send Miss Smithson in." Greyson barked through the intercom. I turned to Mabel, raising my eyebrows with a slight smile. Butterflies swarmed in my stomach.

“Sorry that I didn’t tell you but I didn’t go to Hank’s wedding, at the last moment they said I don’t know the bride wanted a private wedding.” I said and she sat down on the couch staring at Lucas. With his tattoos and stature, he looked like a mafia lord, no one would ever believe he works for the CIA. “Yeah, not the thing I am confused about.” She says as she extends her hand, “I am Danika, you are?” “I am Lucas, I used to work with your boyfriend a few years ago.” He says, completely shifting the subject, also assuring her that if he knows Jake, then he is probably not bad news.

I know around this time of the year he comes over to help you put up Christmas decorations and wrap gifts.” “I would be more than happy to force him to speak to you, but Grayson isn’t here right now darling. In fact, Courtney called me this morning to let me know she and Grayson would be away for a couple days. Going apple picking with her family,” she laughed, “Grayson emailed his father to tell him this morning. Said it would be the best way to contact him until they return to the city.”

As the daughter of the governor of Angels' city, and the youngest CEO in Angeles city, she couldn't be intimidated by the Roth family as they were below her family, so she always made fun of them for being petty. Especially Victoria and Gwendolyn. "Courtney dear, how are you?" Victoria flashed a smile and got up from her seat to greet Courtney, but Courtney ignored her and went up the stairs to Stacey's room. 'I hope that bastard didn't die.' Caine thought to himself. He knew better that if Arthur dies then there is no way to blackmail Stacey.
