Glass shattered, spraying shards everywhere. Ivy's world went dark as her car crashed into a nearby lamppost, the sound of crunching metal and shattering glass filling the air.

CRASH—! The impact roared like thunder. Metal screamed and twisted. The hood caved in, airbags exploded, shards of glass shot through the air. Cecilia was thrown hard against the side door, her shoulder hitting the metal with a sickening crunch. Sparks of pain shot through her vision. But she had to stay conscious! This was it!

Our car spun at the center of the road and crashed into something I didn’t even register before my head smashed against the dashboard. And just like that… everything went black.

The end for me. Then, CRASH. Something, or maybe someone, slammed into the front of my car with brutal force. Metal crumpled. The airbag exploded in my face. My body jerked forward, seatbelt biting deep. The world spun, tires screeching, and everything went black.

“Hit a car. Any car.” The driver hesitated for a fraction of a second—then obeyed. The impact came like thunder. The SUV slammed into a smaller sedan, sending it spinning across the highway. Metal shrieked as other vehicles crashed in succession, one slamming into another, a sickening chain reaction of screeches, shattering glass, and screams.

Me. The car hits the barrier and goes into a spin. The back wheels go over the cliff first. The car dives, flips, and falls. It falls and falls while horror rips through my chest and I grope through the air as if I can stop it. And then it slams onto the rocks on its roof with the sickening thud of crushing metal.

It meant a chance. I stumbled out onto the cracked asphalt, my legs finally giving way beneath me. The wound pulsed, a gaping maw consuming my strength. Black spots danced before my eyes, then devoured the remaining light. I crashed to the ground, the impact rattling my bones, and everything went dark.

I didn't need to look like a mess physically. I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard a crash and that had me coming back to reality real quick. “What the hell? What happened Matteo?" I asked the driver as I looked outside the car window. "I think a car just crashed into our car,” Now was not the time to be having accidents. "I'll quickly see what's happening,” I said as I pushed the car door open and just as I stepped out of the car, a woman stepped out of the car that had crashed into our car looking furious as she matched towards me.

As I stood to leave, Melinda's foot shot out, tripping me. Caught completely off guard, I tumbled to the floor. A glass ornament nearby toppled over, shattering into pieces all around me. Her eyes burned with undisguised malice as she pressed her heel into the back of my hand, driving shards of glass into my palm. The intense pain nearly caused me to lose consciousness. Amidst my agony, Jeffrey's angry voice jolted me back to reality. "Evalyn! How long will you keep up this act? Are you staging this pathetic scene just for money now?"

Could hear the shriek of metal on metal as he tried to brake but it was too late, we were too close, going to hit— Something slammed into us from the side. I was definitely going to die.
