“We’re going to be okay. You just need to hold on.” I nodded weakly, but my heart was pounding, my breaths shallow. Then, without warning, everything went sideways. I heard a deafening screech of tires, and before I could process what was happening, a car crashed into us from the side. The impact sent us spinning, and I screamed as the world tilted around me. “Anton!” I cried out, clutching my belly, my heart racing faster than I could comprehend. Everything went black.
