They dripped down like black water. They formed long tendrils that twisted like snakes. They shot toward Lydia and Eira. Lydia threw up a golden wall. Sparks flew when the shadows hit it. Eira moved fast, cutting through the dark tendrils with her daggers before they could grab her.

Bellatrix’s side table had glass encased candles, one emitting the fragrance of spicy leather and the other was an exact replica of when the rain descended on a dreary afternoon against a subtle breeze. “Now that’s talent.” I chuckled softly to myself. Lila can make a profit and expand her business internationally, candles with this type of craft and quality were difficult to come by. An exasperated groan reverberated through the room.
