Somewhere between the flour, the jokes, and the conversation—
Something unexpected happened. They clicked.
For the first time in a long time—
Dave wasn’t thinking about the past.

Adia tilted her head slightly.
“So… do you always let people throw flour at you on first meetings?” she teased.
“Only if they win first place,” Dave replied.
She smirked. “Good answer.”
There was a pause. A comfortable one.
“Maybe,” she said, “we should continue this conversation somewhere that isn’t covered in flour.”
