It was more emotional than physical but that didn't stop me from wanting to close my eyes and shut out the world around me. I had finished reading through the first few chapters of the book on the creation of the city the night before, chapter one had been a summary, sparse on details but informative none the less but chapter two started at the beginning, giving more detail than I could have imagined about how the shields and veils used their abilities to create the barrier and listing all the problems they encountered along the way. If nothing else, it had given me a good idea of the limitations of the race’s abilities.
