Chapter 32

I groaned on instinct as I registered the pain pulsing through my head.

“Lexi.” I heard Cole call. “Lexi, can you hear me? are you okay?” His voice seemed panicked, and it took a minute for me to realise why.

I groaned again once the memories came flooding back, but this time in humiliation. I couldn't believe I had passed out.

“Lexi.” Cole uttered again, this time from closer by.                         

“Yeah.” I mumbled forcing my eyes open and looking up into the ruggedly handsome face of my guardian, my breath catching in my throat as I registered how close he was and my eyes automatically dipped to his lips, but his own expression held no trace of lust as he gazed at me with concern.
