Half giant squid and half metallic robot from hell it rose up out of the water of the bay behind us as it firmly latched onto the ship in both a biological and metallic way. Alien looking arms plucked away at any human figure that was within reach, while metal arms of a matching order crumpled into the very hull of the ship with a force unimaginable.

Chapter 55: The Apex Predator The water in the dry dock churned like a boiling cauldron. The creature rising from the depths was a biological nightmare. It possessed the slick, rubbery body of a colossal squid, but where the beak should have been, a massive wolf’s head snapped its jaws. Rows of serrated teeth dripped with seawater and slime. Its eyes were the size of dinner plates, glowing with a bioluminescent green rage that illuminated the rusted hull of the warship behind it.

“We’re gonna teach this fucker a lesson.” I lowered the LED a few inches and spotted the disgusting thing crawling up the wall. I could try several paragraphs of description, and you will think I should’ve just said it looked like Gollum and save everybody time. What soon replaced them was a much larger glowing squid. It swam closer, wrapping its appendages around the curve.

I go to kick it into the wall, but those teeth tipped tentacles are wrapped tight around my calf, tightening every second in sawing, deadly vice. It’s a fucking Cthulu fledging – a real pain in the ass, even in miniature.
