I felt a shiver down my spine, as my instinct pushed me to follow the path. I kept walking, and walking until I finally saw something like a light and heard voices nearby. I approached the fire and came to a clearing, and there were men, huge men surrounding a fire. These men didn’t look friendly, so I hid behind a tree to watch them. They were cheering about something, drinking and a few of them were dancing in the circle. Then I shifted my gaze and gasped. “Emily?” I whispered in shock. She was kneeling between two other men, her hands tied behind her back. She was just wearing black underwear and her body was covered in bloody marks of something that looked like bites.

He pulled a stray lock of hair out of her face, closed his eyes, and sighed. “Okay, give me some time.” (Club Fortunae) “She’s going back home, my ass,” Aaron snorted. He didn’t need to be looking at the pictures anymore. They were burned into his brain. Somehow he just couldn’t stop, though. “Day drinking, I guess they’re finally a thing then,” said a familiar voice as she sat down next to Aaron. “Emily Maine,” he beamed. “Aaron Condor,” she smirked. “What are you doing here?”

Emily’s POV Sleep took me faster than I would have liked. But the smell of something burning wakes me and it’s nearly sunset. Did we sleep all day? The blankets are wrapped around me and I can’t believe my eyes. I rub them both a couple more times to make sure I’m not stuck in a dream I’ll G****e the meaning of later.My eyes are right though and it is a sight to behold.

Knox asked. Emily rolled her eyes and walked slowly toward the window and looked out at the dark gardens below. “Nothing concrete,” she replied calmly. On the other end of the call, Knox’s voice tightened. “What do you mean nothing concrete?” Emily kept her tone steady. “He met a woman,” she said. “They spoke for a few minutes and then he left.” Knox went quiet for a moment before asking another question. “What kind of woman?” Emily leaned lightly against the window frame. “She looked like a foreigner,” she said carefully. “Poorly dressed. Possibly homeless.”
