Not yet. Before I can ask, Ronan's radio sounds. He steps outside. Returns in ninety seconds. Sets something on the table. A sealed envelope. The wolf-and-crown symbol stamped into the wax on the back. No address. No name. Just the symbol. Inside, one page. Clean handwriting. Unhurried. Eight words. The half-blood princess will not reach the crown.

The driver clicks to open the door and moves a bit to the sides. Dark red heavy shoes with a sharp point in the front land out of the gate on the ground. A light brown surcoat over a golden and white tunic sways out with a tall and wide man. The golden crown shines brightly on his head. Light brown skin with a darker shade of brown beards is under the green eyes.

“Princess Deloris, will you uphold the customs and duties of the crown?” I nod my head. “I will.” The same voice booms again and snaps me yet again to attention. “Princess Deloris, do you accept the crown?” Again, I nod. “I do.” A couple of clergy step forward. One puts the crown on my head, while the other places the royal golden egg with my family’s crest in my hand. My eyelids again dip, but a slight pain in my shoulder has me whipping my eyelids wide open again.

Just didn’t expect to find it in his hands. I remember the ruby set. A crown and two amulets. One being the amulet of all. That one gave you the power to reign overall. Just if you didn’t know the truth behind you would be oblivious to it for life. That amulet and the ruby crown were a pair. They made both pure gold and rubies.

Large seashells point to the sky surrounded by smaller shells, all with a duo chrome shift that makes them shift from blue to purple to green in the light. The crown is decorated with blue, pink and purple sapphires, diamonds and opals creating a gorgeous prism effect when it catches the light.
