Huge mountains surrounded the kingdom beautifully while glowing rivers cut through the lands like something straight out of fantasy movies. Giant silver towers stood proudly beneath the night sky while thousands of lights glowed across the city below. Beautiful. Peaceful.

The commotion in the crowd was reaching a fever pitch. Some were even gearing up to storm the stage to stop me when suddenly, the banquet hall doors slammed open. The screech of brakes violently cut through the downpour. It was not just one car that had arrived, but an entire motorcade of six black armored Hummers that crashed right through the glass walls of the banquet hall, sending shards flying everywhere. The car doors swung open in unison, and a stream of figures in black poured into the banquet hall.

The chamber smelled of earth and rain, ancient and steady.

Across the entire Crown now. The Hollow Queen screamed again. Stop her! The panic in her voice was overwhelming. If she gets free— The sentence never finished. Because the Crown exploded. Not into pieces. Into light. Silver fire erupted into the sky. The force threw everyone backward. Cassian crashed into the snow. Kaelen hit a broken pillar. All I hear is, "By the power vested upon me, you will become the queen of Evergreen, from today until forever!" A maid removes my crown and my father stands up. He walks next to the high priest. The priest takes a few steps back and my father takes the queen's crown. Gently, he crowns me with it and says, "I am so proud of you!" I force a smile and curtsy as father nods and goes back into his place. I face the crowd once and for all. The high priest announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Children, world-- help me welcome the new Queen of Evergreen, Aurora Wintershade!"

I scrolled down and started reading the article. 'A curious announcement from the royal house of Medora, a kingdom north of Scotland. The king announced today that a contest will be held to find the crown prince a wife. Medora is known to be secluded, with not much news coming in and out of the country. They announced a test will be put online for whoever has any interest in becoming a queen. It does not matter what your nationality is, as long as you are above eighteen years old.'
