She scowled at him and said, “You underestimated me, Death. That, was your biggest flaw.”
With that, she thrust the box in her hand at him and with a swift movement, grabbed the knife and threw it through the silver box and through Death. Now, it was his turn to disappear. He shrieked in agonising pain as he slowly turned into dust and began entering the box, which now, instead of silver, became a dull, wooden colour. Once Death was completely gone, the box fell onto the floor.
My mother smirked and picked it up.
“The imbuement is now used up. This box can never be opened again.” She said. She then turned towards Dylan, who was just barely breathing.
