I was so incensed that I couldn't even wait to say my goodbyes to the rest of our team before storming off to the underground parking lot, getting into the car and driving back home. The drive back to Renato's villa was a blur, my mind reeling with anger and frustration. As I walked towards the door, my heart thumped in my chest, and I quickly pushed it open, a smile slipping from my parted lips as I saw the living filled with people. They were all happy. "Uncle, look!" Curtis called out, raising a knife in his hand. "Marcelo is teaching me how to use a knife to defend myself." Marcelo Marino, the same man I had only known from the file, waved his hand, and then turned around to face Curtis.

"What are you saying?! That's how many they were when they wiped out six of our groups!" Curtis cut short the taunts. "Enough talk. Let's finish this." His sword flashed, and the battle began. He moved with a terrifying efficiency, two or three bandits falling with each precise strike. The bandit leader, desperate, bellowed, "Take down Curtis first!" Nine men charged, but Ryull and Skoll were already upon them, their brutal assault shattering the bandits' ranks. "Boss, those aren't ordinary wolves," a terrified bandit gasped, "They never leave Curtis's side!" The leader cursed, realizing Curtis's stamina was superhuman; he'd been fighting relentlessly since the previous night.

But the boy felt as if he was punched with words that his brain cannot digest. The boy did not say anything and just moved on to the next car. He could tell that there’s no point asking Eric to be his tour guide. Eugene stood before a black car with no roof and windshield. Somehow, looking at the car reminded him of the cartoon he watched before. ‘Batman~’ the kid whispered in his head. He started to imagine how cool it would be to drive that while wearing batman costume, when suddenly, Eric spoke again. “That is Elvo. It produces 804 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8,” Eric explained.

Dante beamed and asked the man to unstrap Curtis’s hands from the plaster. Curtis grinned in a bit pain as he rolled his wrists. “So, as I told you we both know each other…and you know I hate to hear ‘No’, Curtis!” Dante folded his two arms in his front while he gazed at Curtis who seemed limping already as the man had no other choice but working for him.

Kent growled, and his breath moved my loose blonde hair. “Change back. Change back now!” I demanded. He was scary. Probably more than the wolf that attacked me. Thankfully, the fur dissipated back into skin and his wolfish features turned back to manly ones, as two of his four arms turned back into arms and he was standing upright again. Naked.

“You don’t know what I’m capable of, Arden. If you don’t tell me—” “I know exactly what you’re capable of,” Arden cut in. The air went still. “You’re capable of killing your own brother and his wife,” Arden continued, his voice steady but deadly. “You’re capable of stealing their son’s inheritance and ruining his life.” Curtis’s eyes widened for a split second—then he smirked. “And let me remind you of something. This game is almost over.” Curtis stared at him. “So,” he said coldly, “where is my son?”

Rima rolled her eyes. “Well if he was then I do not need to say anything about Penn finally losing it do I?” Curtis said drily and when Rima released an annoyed little growl of frustration Curtis decided that Playing with her was enough. “I am not a traitor, I prefer the or something part in your statement.” “You are not selling us out, are you?” Rima asked worried as Curtis stood up and looked at Rima straight in the eyes. “For me to sell you out that means that I am being paid or compensated someway, I am not selling anybody out.” Curtis stated firmly as Rima released all her tension through an exhale then she hugged Curtis while Curtis froze.

Ronnie pushed Curtis’s chair in the direction of the disturbance. “I hope this is important enough to take me from the booth,” Curtis said. “These terminals need to be inspected carefully.” “Trust me, boss,” Ronnie said, “this is something that you got to see up close and personal.” Ronnie pointed Curtis to an engraving on the ground of a woman with claws and wings and a snake lower half that was surrounded by a large circle. “Echidna,” Curtis whispered to himself. “What was that boss?” Ronnie asked. “It’s nothing. Where are the other men?”

Since his first plan of draining Soren of his power and making him the villain wasn’t working, he had moved on to plan B. His Dark Ones moved through the pack with coordinated movements he had planted into their heads so they wouldn’t lose. Losing was not an option for him. Curtis’s irritation was growing. He didn’t remember the Moonrise warriors being this powerful. Valeria had warned him they had trained and were prepared for fights against his Dark Ones, but he didn’t anticipate that it was to this extent. Soren cut through the chaos with Amira and Koa at his side. His eyes found Curtis in the middle of the commotion, looking composed as though dead bodies weren’t falling around him.

After speaking, Dustin looked at Curtis. His eyes were intense and confident, as if he already understood everything. Curtis was taken aback, then quickly composed himself. He was filled with uncontrollable joy. “Thank you for your trust! On behalf of the whole Swansong Group, I swear to serve you with my life. We will do everything to follow your orders!” Curtis’s voice trembled in excitement.
