ALPHA VAN'S POV The moment Curtis forced his way to the surface, a flood of raw emotion surged through me, and the roar of the battle around us faded as our focus narrowed solely on Anakiyus. The sight of his wolf, once our comrade, but now a monstrous embodiment of betrayal, fueled Curtis’s relentless rage. “I make you have painless death,” Curtis offered through a mindlink to his opponent. He was not going to fall for Austin’s trap. Austin glares at Curtis. He is a man who is prideful. If he can hurt this man’s ego enough, he could make Curtis bring his forces to their death. Not only that but he can also have the man spill the whereabout of his allies. Whether it’s from the water, air, or ground, he would have his werewolves be prepared. If he’s lucky this war will be over sooner than he imagined.
