This is my trying moment, but I will survive it and emerge triumphant. My phone vibrates in my hand, and I turn it over, glancing at the screen. It's Mason, my advisor and constant source of motivation. I'm holding the bag containing my mom's supplies in one hand and my phone in the other, with my duffel bag slung across my right shoulder. I answer Mason's call, raising the phone to my ear. "Hey, how are you doing?" he asks. "I'm good," I respond. The sound of engines and cars rumbles in the air as I walk along the pedestrian walkway.

I will come when I am ready and I am not ready yet but I am closer than I was. I look at the message. Closer than I was. The door is there. The light is already on.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and pushed open the doors, stepping into the bright afternoon air. The campus buzzed with noise students chatting, laughing, hurrying to their next classes. I walked down the steps, heading toward the small café across the courtyard. I needed caffeine. Needed something sweet for Leo. Needed a tiny piece of normal. My phone buzzed just as I reached the walkway. Unknown: You should return home at once. The driver is here. I stopped, eyebrows lifting in annoyance. Me: No. I want coffee. And I’m getting snacks for Leo. Just wait a few minutes. You’re watching me anyway.

I said, getting on my feet. "Where are you going?" she asked. "I need to use the bathroom before the professor walks in," I said, walking away. "You are impossible," I heard her say. I raised my fingers up happily as I headed out of the class. I walked along the slightly busy hallway, humming a song by Sam Smith as I looked ahead. I stopped on my track a bit the minute I saw Mario and Mimi approaching. Oh geez.

That is all my mind is whispering to me right now, that I will soon be gone. “I don't know anything, I… There is a farm, there is a road, the road is longer, and they are coming faster than they should, I don't know what to do” I stepped into the car and drove as fast as I could, but in all that I knew they would soon catch up with me, I knew that my time of being alive right here had expired. “I am on my way, I think I have your location, just keep driving as fast as you can, and I will make sure to reach there okay? After glancing myself for the last time i n the mirror, I took m y phone and other important stuffs and went out. Mom and dad has already left for the dinner, and I guess Its only m e who i s going to be present there i n last. I took m y balck BMW and hit the road. Throughout the whole ride m y whole focus was only o n her. O n Aashirya. Soon I reached m y destination. Releasing a long breathe, I went out from the car and went inside the house.
