I smile at my phone before putting it back in the front pocket of my bag. Sitting back, I look out the window, taking in the town. I don’t usually pay attention when I’m on the bus, choosing to gossip with Lani instead.

They never get you where you need to be on time. I zoom, my figure a haze, down the steps, out the entryway, and into the road. My legs are beating hard to such an extent that I can scarcely relax. It is just a brief time before I'm out of the city, and into our domain. I'm voyaging unimaginably quickly, quicker than I at any point figured I could run.

Then I throw the phone in the passenger seat and drive faster than I ever have in my wretched life. “I’m coming, baby. I’m coming for you.”

*Cynamon* I have just gotten into the car when I receive a text, so I pull out my phone and read it. ‘Are you on your way honey ... I am getting hungry’. ‘Just got in my car ... but I need to drive slow not to ruin the cakes and also find my way to the middle of nowhere. So it will take a bit.. be patient’. I call her mommy in full whenever I'm in no mood to exchange words. “You should be on your way by now, the weather doesn't seem too friendly, there might be a heavy downpour tonight” She said. I looked up at the climate, the cloud darkened. “Yeah. I..I uhm… I am on my way” I lied. “See you soon!” She hung the call. I sighed heavily, I guess I'd go alone and find a better excuse why I couldn't come with Finn. I made my way towards the roadside to board a cab.

The moment I reached the main road, I flagged down the first cab I saw. As I slid into the backseat, I pulled out my phone again and texted Mary. “On my way.”

“He seems to trust me. Maybe he’ll be honest. Maybe he won’t. Either way, we don’t know what we’re walking in to. But get ready, and I’ll let you know more when I do.” He’d nodded at me, and offered me a quick salute. I’d rolled my eyes at him, and then sped to my car so fast that the house and driveway had become a blur. I’d barely paused to send Cyrus a quick text before I’d jammed the key into the ignition and yanked the gearstick into first. I’d been in third as I’d accelerated away from the drive, and fourth, then fifth, as I’d sped towards The Heath. My text had been simple: I’m on my way. See you soon. Cals x

Cody “For fuck’s sake.” I mutter as I try to jam my kit into my bag. It’s the same bag I use all the time for travel, and the very same bag that I’ve used for the last few years so why the hell isn’t it going right this morning? Right, you know why?
