At a certain pub in Northspring… Jackie was respectfully standing in front of a pale-faced young man with black circles around his eyes. He said ingratiatingly, “Mr. Zachry, we must show this kid some lessons later for spoiling your plan!” Mr. Zachry’s name was Matthew Zachry. He had seen Cecile’s photo before. Even though Cecile was wearing washed-out clothes in the photo, she looked gorgeous. When he saw the photo, he couldn't believe that a person could look so good without dressing up.

declares Ves. "Same!" says Jack and Mia. "I guess that means me too," says Pike. "Why?" "I'm their ride." "Oh." "Fine by me," says Dane. He looks down at me. I sigh. "Alright. But don't act up." "Yay!!" screams Ves and Jack. They run off to the kitchen and bring back snacks they find. Mia goes and grabs cups and drinks with Pike. Rupert munches on the little pieces of snacks that fall on the floor.

How I miss the days when all you had to worry about was going down some hungry human's throat and now I'm being cut up like a freak! A bug then crawled out from one of the jack-o'-lantern's eye and Jake watched it until it touched the ground before someone placed a hand on his shoulder, causing him to gasp a little. "You actually made it!" It was Matt, who Jake noted was carrying a small digital camera with him. Gabriel was standing next to him. "I think I'll be ditching you guys early," Gabriel started. "Why?" Jake asked. "Well, Mama's boy here got a little company today!" Matt responded, laughing.

"Bria Collins, Victor Jones, Matt Jefferson, and Jackie Garner." My heart leaped in my chest at the mention of my name. I became annoyed within me when I looked at Matt and he smiled up at me from his row below. I clenched my hands and hesitantly wrote out the list in my notebook. I rubbed my face and tried to calm myself down. I would have been excited about this project if only Matt and I weren't in the same group.

I laughed. “Oh, sure, I’m sure that’s what it is,” I teased again, making him roll his eyes. “Hey, this is Tabby. My friend on the team.” “I saw you on TV!” Matt said with a grin. “You were on Judy’s team when you were on the island.” Tabby nodded. “Yes,” she replied. “Judy was pretty amazing with that bear.” “It’s not like I did it alone,” I countered. “But anyways, Tabby, this is Matthew and Irene Landry.”

The three rugrats bid them goodbye as they walked into the security checkpoint. Seeing Violet's reluctance to part with the three rugrats, Jackie wrapped his arm around her shoulders and said, “You like kids?” She replied, “Who doesn’t like smart and adorable kids?”

Jack walked up to his desk and immediately turned on his computer. After entering his password and fingerprint, the computer did not start up as usual, but instead went black. He furrowed his brows, feeling a sense of foreboding. Just as he was about to shut down and restart the computer, several animated characters suddenly appeared on the screen. Richard sometimes watched cartoons, and Jack had seen them occasionally when he visited his old home. He recognized the characters as Peppa Pig and her family.

Jack asked. We turned towards him and Zanvil and Sky were also standing with him. Matt blushed and answered yes. “I must say you have a talent, you have made ugly duckling look like a swan,” he said while looking at Nina and smirking at her. She stared at him with a clenched jaw. “I agree too,” said the sky while looking at Hazel. Am I missing something here? Zanvil just gave his angry look at me and then to poor Matt and then they left. “Next time I see Jack I'm going to punch him,” Nina said with a clenched jaw.

A sob breaks hard. She rubs my back in a soothing manner. Jackie is not only my mum’s gossip partner but someone who watched over me when I was a little kid. “It’s going to be okay, dear.” She pulls away, water in her eyes and kind, brown ones peering into mine. “I don’t know what happened, but I’m glad you are safe and alright. I’m sure Lizzy is glad, too… wherever she is.” I nod, sniffing. “Be happy, child.”
