I took a breath. “Damian is a very sly man,” I began, putting extra emphasis on the word. “And he doesn’t need to be physically stronger than you to win.”

“Both. I’ve got… motivation now.” Damian raised an eyebrow but didn’t push. That was why we worked as friends. He never dug too deep unless I wanted him to. We talked for a while longer — about school, the upcoming hockey tryouts, some girl he’d been seeing on and off. Normal shit. Surface shit. It helped. Eventually, Damian’s attention drifted down to the dance floor. His eyes locked on a group of strippers working the poles near the VIP section. One in particular — a tall, dark-haired girl with legs for days and barely-there red lingerie — caught his interest.

"Her name is Chloe. She's a veterinarian. Works with injured birds and stray cats. She has no idea who I am. She thinks I'm a middle manager at a tech company." "You're lying to her?" "I'm protecting myself." Damian shrugged. "If she likes me when she thinks I'm nobody, then maybe she's worth keeping around. If she only likes me for the money and the name, then I know before I get hurt." I laughed. "That's the most Damian thing I've ever heard." He smiled. "I try." We sat in silence for a while. The crickets kept singing. Somewhere inside, Lily turned over in her bed.

His words cut through the air, causing more harm I smirked, leaning in "Well you were looking for a hook-up the other night and you made her homeless the next day" Damian mouth went dry, his words vanishing. The staff member looked on complete shock and confusion. I wanted nothing to do with this man, but the more I tried to pull away, the deeper I seemed dto get pulled in

He was always by himself and only enjoyed the company of his alcohol and cigarettes.. They were his best buddies…

It was him – standing over me with a satisfied smirk, as if ruining my day was his birthright. Damian Hayes. Quarterback of Ridgewood High. Rich, hot, and cruel as hell. “Oops,” he drawled, tilting his head mockingly. His sharp jawline looked sculpted from stone, his messy brown hair falling perfectly over his dark green eyes. “Looks like someone’s too clumsy to even hold a tray.” I swallowed down the lump in my throat. “Fuck you, Damian.” His smile widened into a wicked grin. “ He is very cute . Is he your boyfriend ? “ asked madam Diana with a smile . “ Not yet . “ said Damian with a smile . Madam Diana opened her eyes surprised along with her husband when they heard their son , especially after seeing his smirk . “ What…..What do you mean by ‘ not yet ‘ ? He…..he…..rejected you ? “ asked mr Adam shocked . “ Yeah ! He is quite a hard catch . Probably the hardest person I had to deal with in my life . Also the most interesting one . “ said Damian with a happy expression . Madam Diana was surprised that her son kept smiling unconsciously . ‘ When my son has dated other people he has never smiled like this when thinking about them . He always remained indifferent .

They spoke on the call for less than ten minutes and after dropping the call, he walked out of the office. Damian walked into his hotel room from the balcony with a stick of cigarette between his lips. He wore a black leather short that exposed a bit of his Calvin Klein boxers. His upper body was left exposed, making his tattoo visible enough under the blue background light. He walked over to a cushion chair and sat, flipping his laptop open and turning it on. He typed in some numbers with his right hand, while his left hand held a glass of alcohol. He dropped his glass of the table and picked up the laptop, leaning back comfortably on the chair.

He continued on and spotted his friend, the owner of the club, whom he approached and greeted with a handshake. "You're late today, what happened?" his friend inquired curiously. "I had a small engagement that kept me longer than expected, but hey, I'm here now," Damian replied with a wide grin. When Damian smiled, everyone seemed to be enthralled by his charm. He was well aware of his good looks and charisma, and he never hesitated to exploit them when necessary. "Why is the music so loud and uninspiring tonight?" he questioned. "The DJ had another commitment and couldn't make it, so we had to find a last-minute replacement," his friend explained.
