“Let’s not waste another second,” Marina said sharply, reaching for my hand and tugging me forward like she had a right to.
But she didn’t get far.
Damien moved so fast that I barely saw it.
He grabbed Marina’s wrist mid-motion and swatted her away—not hard, but hard enough to make her stumble back with a startled gasp.
“Don’t touch her,” Damien snarled, voice low and dangerous.
Marina’s eyes flared. “Did you forget what brought us here in the first place?”
